F1 pitman length?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by crminal, Aug 11, 2013.

  1. Could not find a Ford pitman arm for my F1 box at the swap meet today but found a Chevy arm that fit the splines perfectly. Goes on a model A build so I may have to re-shape it anyway. Don't have an F1 arm to compare length.
The Chevy arm is 6" hole to hole. Can someone please check an F1 arm for comparison?
    Thanks.

i figured the f1 and f100 was pretty close to the same. the boxes look the same.

  5. Thanks guys, yes your info is helpful. I would have liked to use a Ford arm. The ball end is is swedged in and it can be removed easily. I can use a tie rod end in the tapered hole. I may have to heat and bend the arm to shape but it seems very close to start with.
For 15 buxs I'll grind the GM #'s off and keep my Ford a Ford (almost)......
