will the hood and or mainly grille change out between 56, 57,58,59,60 ford f100's without much of an issue. I have located a 58 as a project for my oldest son, and if he can put a earlier grill in it, we may strike up a deal, since the owner is willing to sell at a reasonable price. thanks in advance.
57-60 will interchange pretty simple. but 56 going onto a 58 will be a LOT of work, and ugly as hell in my book.
'57 was the only year with single headlights from the 57-60 body style. '57 and 58 share fenders, valance and turn signals. You have to change the headlight, grill. The '59 and 60 share fenders, valance and turn signals. It's easiest to switch the whole front clip if you find a better clip. Hoods all switch around and each year is different after '58. '56 was a totally different animal, nothing the same. The '57 grill looks a lot like the '57 so I can see how you would think they can be switched with each other. SPark
thanks for the info i knew FORD as a rule swicthed up numerious things, i've never know anyone locally to have a 56 thru 61 ford pickup, or anyone to have restored one, therefore my knowledge is limited in those years. the 58 i found has no hood at all, so I was trying to see how hard it would be to locate one. The rest of the truck is there, and in pretty decent shape, and the price i was quoted was reasonable for the whole truck, so i was seriously considering talking my son into restoring and modifying it.
