Hey all, I'm about to run a voltage reducer to my fuel gauge and I need to know hich post on the back of the gauge gets the power feed and which is ground?? I'm currently in the garage waiting anxiously for the answer haha aphoto would be sweet if possible thanks guys
Please don't take this the wrong way , but do you own a test light ? Sometimes you can find the + & - marks on the back of the gauge as well . That will be the easiest way to know which is the positive . You could also use it at the sending unit as well . just a thought . Jim
Well I have the gauges out of the car along with the sender. In the process of installing the new wire harness and dont have any power in the car yet, so I can't really use a test light. No offense taken, I wasnt clear on the situation
Looking at my wiring diagram it looks like the power would go to the "F" side of the gage and the sender would hook up to the "E" side.
I didn't know you were starting from scratch ! Yea a test light won't do you any good right now ! I thought you were just installing the reducer on a simple 12v conversion . The instructions should show you but I don't know what wiring harness you are using . Jim
