Was over at the car, they showed me some work being done to a Chevelle.. all parts are painted separate.. Then the car is loosely ***embled and one more coat of base is put on to make the car even..then it is taken apart again and the parts are all painted clear separately.. I brought some wheels over to use as rollers .. Dark pic but you can see how narrowed the rear is in this car.. Other side..
Also, my wheels came in. These prob wont be my only set of wheels, but I've wanted to see it with steel wheels and to get them painted the exact color of the car its a good idea to give them to the painter now. Out of the box.. Setting on my friends Cameo, just for a look. (My car has chev bolt pattern for some reason).. With some beauty rings.. The wheels he will be running..
Dropped by one day last week and they had just started some sanding, said the red on here now is very high quality and is sanding well. They also got clear on the chevelle.. Then this week the guys sent me some pics as I haven't been out there yet..
More pics.. They said the end of this door was messed up from the old way people used to adjust doors..by bending them.
New wheels, sandblasted and ready for some Race Red.. Steering column and some other randoms blasted and ready too.. Guide coat sanded off, and fresh primer.. Under the deck lid.. Workin the engine compartment.. Primed.. Dash..
Sanding under the hood and trunk.. Seals fitchecked on the firewall, more sanding.. Suspension removed again.. More sanding... Parts hanging.. Looking good.. Seam Sealer..
Metal prep and seam sealer on the inner fenders.. Picked up a horn ring off ebay to give to the trim/Chrome guy Fresh Primer..
Here are the pics from yesterday, all the parts will be moving this week and the main car next week to a friend's shop to start on ***y work. Fenders going first, they will be getting undercoat and like a dyno matting on the inside to protect from rocks.
