Sorry if this is a dumb question. My fairlane has 5 lug wheels, wondering why. It also has a factory I6. Why would they put that combo together?
My guess would be because the Fairlane was a little bigger and heavier than the Mustangs and Falcons that used the 6 cyl 4 lug combo.
My 63 originally came with the 221 v-8 and 5 lug. Early stangs and fairlane/falcons with 6 cyl usually came with 4 lug.
my '63 6 cylinder (200ci) came with 5 lug as well. I was under the impression that all Fairlanes of this generation came with 5 lugs no matter what engine they were equipped with.
If I am not mistaken all Fairlanes came with 5 lug as it has been said before it was a heavier built car.
all fairlanes came with 5 lug wheels. its a different breed than the mustang and falcons.wait, someone else already said that! lol anyway its true....
We had one of the original small Fairlanes, the '62, and it came equipped with 5 lug 13" wheels and a 221 v-8. I am pretty sure, as has been said, all Fairlanes had 5 lug wheels.
All seven of mine have 5 lug. Is this a problem as the 4 lug pattern offers few wheel options that are cool. I guess if you don't want coolness 4 lug might work!
No, no problems, I am excited it has 5 lugs, I just thought maybe it wasn't the original engine or something. Thanks for all the replies.
