Another long dead thread raises like the Phoenix! This thread is from 2006! Pete Seeger would never put a fake quick change on a real banjo!! HRP
Things must be really boring in Canada today, 11 years and 3 months this poor thread laid dead and he dug it up again. We may have a new record here.
I still would be interested in the fake Halibrand used to make. ON second thought I like my trunk floor too much!
If I had nickle for all of the "traditional" hot rodders who have asked about my "quick change" I could afford to buy some of Ryan's new swag. FYI, the price has doubled on these QC's in the past 15 years.
The next thing you know, they will want to know, where do you get the plastic 9" Ford diff. cover for the 10 bolt GM differential! POSERS! KK
One of those fake quick changes would make a ripping belt buckle that would make any wrestler proud. Bedazzle that *****.
I have never understood why anything on someone else's car bothered other people.. I couldn't care less what someone else does to their car. I only care what I put on my own and hope the other guy is happy with his. All this commotion makes me want to get one now just to watch some guys turn inside out. The at***udes are what seem gay to me.
Well, we live in a visual world. While it's easy for some to ignore things around them, most people notice things. If a person didn't care what others thought of their car, car shows would be empty lots. Chances are, you care and may not realize it. And if you really don't care, well that's cool too. I was going to use a nice race looking rear end cover on my 10 bolt, but then I realized how non-functional **** looks on a car. In fact, stepping away from that decision changed the whole theme of my build and towards the better. So, yea...... this thread is really old and fake stuff on Hot Rods is just..... stupid and ghey. But you know what's REALLY ghey? Bonneville chops and painted numbers on cars that couldn't find table salt, much less Bonneville.
But you know what's REALLY ghey? Bonneville chops and painted numbers on cars that couldn't find table salt, much less Bonneville. ^^^^^ Yes. This!
So now I have to ask. Is your QC a real one or a Zipper invention? I wouldn't put it past him to make a killer fake. You should see his flathead 350 chevy.
Wow this is a really old thread. Just like ***ties, I prefer real ones. Winters sure makes a nice QC.
Say what you might, but I bet the one "denis4X4" showed has fooled may many more people than not. I'll go so far to say that if that was on a car I bought, I'd have a hard time taking it off.
In the mid eighties I had something called a Slick-Change for a Ford nine inch on a model A Tudor. It in-cased the entire center of the rear-end and even fooled circle track guys. It was all about appearance and I knew I wouldn't hand grenade the nine inch. Wasn't sure a quick-change would have handled the 600 ft lbs from the tunnel rammed big block Chevy. My next build will have the real thing.
Here are two more violations that those of you out there are so insecure that you have to make snide comments. Here's the car on the Dyno (60 HP at the rear wheels with a banger) with fibergl*** E&J replicas and a number on the door complete with real brush strokes. The fake QC was purchased 15 years ago and I can't tell you how many guys can't tell the difference.
Something that it is not... I don’t really care how well done it is... or if it could fool me. I’m just not into the concept of faux. Nothing against someone that is. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
