  2. About 6 inches wide. I can measure one, later.

  3. Yeah, at least 6" and they're wider at the base where they attach to the floor.

Ok thanks. I want to put one in one of these days. I want to make a few tweaks to the seat position

  5. The base is basically 17-1/2" long and 7-1/2" wide.

  6. That's the '62-63 console; the '64-65 is a bit larger IIRC... I sold my last Falcon quite a few years ago, so I'm going on memory.

  7. I didn't know there are other ones. I believe these first came in the '61 Falcon Futura and Comet S-22.

'64-65 Falcon. The Comet is identical except for different chrome trim on the padded lid. Note that the shift lever doesn't come up through it....

That's going to be a bit of a tight fit. Maybe when I get the seats re done I can take a little off the sides IMG_20200905_103254340.jpeg

  10. I figured it would be square ... like the body.

  11. Are you planning on going with the round one or the square one?

I like this one too...I get the feeling neither on can be had without shelling out some big bucks.

Every Falcon console I manage to find has some damage to it.

  14. Both use die-cast chrome trim, finding one that's affordable without pitted chrome won't be easy....

They are reproducing the padded lid for the '64-65 version ($100), you could build the rest.

  15. By both do you mean the square Falcon and Comet versions or the round and square versions?

I mainly ask because it seems like the round version is plastic, not chromed metal. 20200905_100043.jpg 20200905_100029.jpg

  16. I think it'd be cool to make consoles out of metal and repurposed parts versus wood or plastic (including fiberglass). An antique toaster, a finned valve cover, fabricate a sheet metal box and machine an aluminum finned lid, and such. I'm saying make it look good, not hokey.

One has the finished edge at the bottom of the fins and the other doesn’t.

I know a local that has a 1955 Chevy , big block , four speed and buckets that has one between the bucket seats and really it sets off the interior.

  28. Hmm. I wonder if the finished edge one came in the '63 ('63-1/2?) Sprint.

  29. Do you know if these are plastic, or what? The chrome-looking parts, the sides.
