OK, I have seen lots of G***er's and I like all type's of G***er's, but lets see anyone with the Falcon, Comet style g***er's. I will start it off with some pictures of mine. Its a 1960 Falcon with 64 Econoline front axle and a 66 Bronco 9 inch rear end with a factory nodular iron center section with 4.56 gears and afull aluminum spool. It has a 351W bored 40 over with Edelbrock heads. I use a Predator carburator on a Edlebrock Torker intake. I use a solid lifter flat tappet cam from Comp Cams. ( a little bit of history on the motor, prior to rebuild for the Falcon the engine came out of my drivers training range car from high school, a 74 Lincoln) I run a C4 automatic with a TCI converter, valve body and input shaft. ( And yes I keep thinking about converting it to a stick ) It ways 2550 lbs. with me not in it. It has turned a best of 11.54 about 2 years ago and runs 11.70's to 11.90's in good air & 12.00's to 12 teen's in the heat. Every time I go to the G***er Reunion in Thompson Ohio it slow's way down do to the heat and elevation from the heat.

    Thanks

    Jon

I know you said let see'um, but right now mine is just a stripped 64 Comet post. I am putting in an early Econoline straight axle after narrowing it 5.5 inches. The rear end is a 9 inch out of a 57 Fairlane. Will be a SBF ( I got too many speed parts from my 5.0 days...) and a Top Loader.

Both axles will be moved forward because I just gotta have that funky A/FX look.

Great looking Falcon, btw. I really wanted a Falcon for this g***er project, but found a Comet instead. Pics are coming.

not a g***er persay, but heres my 65 comet... When I bought the car from my uncle, he had installed the snorkel hood, but after 10 years or so not really changing the car up, I decided to gl*** a crites teardrop onto it...Dyno Don had one very similar on his 64, and its the only one I've ever seen besides mine with the snorkel/teardrop combo...I still haven't finished it, and my old man wants me to do one for him...so does a friend of his who has a g***er Comet....anyways...

The hood and the car looks great, the 65 Comet is my favorite. Are you running a 289 in it?

Jeff, you are doing about the same on your front axle as I did with mine. It looks right with it narrowed, I mocked mine up with the stock width and it just didnt look right. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

    Thanks

Jon, I was building a `63 Falcon , till I saw the first pictures of your `60 and Pat Kelly`s `61 on the East Coast G***ers site. I`m also a member of ECG. So I went on a mission looking for a `60/`61 to build . I found one here not to far from the house. So I`m in the middle of changing it into a g***er . I`m using a Speedway straight axle and it will have a 351C with Hilborns and a Doug Nash 5 speed into a `69 Mustang 9" with Strange Eng. axles & spool . Hope to get it done this winter for next year racing. Bill "G***erman'

Bill the combo you aregoing with is great sounding, I wish I could s****e up the money to do a Hilborn, they are neat looking and when you get the combo right on them I guess they work good. I have kicked around switching to a stick because that really show off the g***er style and reputation of being wild rides. But for now I will stick with the old automatic, it makes it easy if somone else drives thecar if I am running the altered the same weekend. I wish everybody that I am meeting here lived a little closer so we could see everyones cars. No matter what I do I have to leave the state of Michigan to find a nostalgia event. There is a guy here in Michigan who is working very hard to try to get tracks to promote a race and he has been able to get 8 g***ers booked into a track this year as a exhibition group for a funny car invitational race they are having.

Hope to see more of the Falcon as it comes along.

Not a Falcon or Comet, but it's in the same family. Here's a pic of my 64 Fairlane. Should be done this winter. 289 with Ford 2x4 high rise intake, toploader, 9" with 4.56 gears and a detroit locker.

  11. Here's mine... don't laugh...

The car was built around 1974 by a local guy here in Livermore. He had Murillo's welding do some of the fab work. They cut out and patched in the shock towers, they narrowed an Econoline axle, swapped in a '57 Ford 9" rear... and then put a 351C 4v , and 4 speed in it. The rear wheelwells were also cut, conduit was bent, and they were smeared with Bondo... the rear deck lid's corners were rounded too... (unless that was stock)

The interior was tuck and roll... door panels and all... had some Camaro buckets in it, Covico steering wheel and SW gagues in a panel that fits in the original cluster.

Very cool car... I bought it originally from the guy who built it in the 70's about 8 years ago. Then I sold it to a co-worker about 6 years ago. He got it running, installed a solid lifter cam in it... a new carb... and re-did the king pins. Oh, and he had his 6th grade students paint it as an art project!

I got it back in a trade a couple weeks ago.

Plans are to strip it, put it in primer and then fix all the scary stuff... then sell it.

I'll probably swap the wheels and tires for something a little more to my liking... I'd like to find some 3.5" slot mags for the front... steelies for the back...

I also have some big tube headers that are for a 351C 4v in a '65 stang that I want to swap in.

The thing runs REAL strong... but is SCARY because the steering box is worn out... and someone cranked the adjustment nut down... so, when you turn the wheel a little bit, it holds it in that direction! Scary!

It has about 4 degrees caster, and the kingpins are new... so, I'm pretty sure it is the box.

After I get it sorted out... I want to take it to the track and see what it'll do.

Hopefully it'll run deep into the 13's... it should.

The '64 Comet is the best looking of the bunch!

These aren't mine.. I'm just a fan. Buddy had a 289/4spd '65 Ranchero when I was in high school. Ran like a ****d ape when we put a 4bbl intake and carb on it.

I would love to come up there to visit BC but I probably should put a roll bar and better than stock seat belts in the car before I go to a track again.
BTW, I like how your '64 Fairlane is turning out.
