    Lotus,
Love the wifes Falcon, great stance, and yes the flake on top would realy set it off.A small block 289-302, c-4, comet -maverick 8 in. and you would be good to go.

    Lotus,
Just thought of something, since you have a good 200 6 in the wifes car already, and she wants a floor shift, why not a T-5 5 speed ?

    Just thinkin!

    Lotus,
Mint to add this. Sinse there is already a good 200 6 in the wifes car, and she wants a floor shift, how about a T-5 5speed? (great gas milage) And a 4 lug 8 in. rear end out of an early comet -maverick (70-71 )

    Just thinkin

For the wife it is fine for the around town grocery getter. She just wants a floor shift.

down the road when it is time for a new motor I am going to go with a 200and probably a T-5...but we are not in a hurry. she does want AC though...and a stereo now though.

and here is another neat falcon picture I found somewhere on the web.

Sorry Dude, I must have had my head under the hood of my 327 down Moorabbin way, and not noticed the Madmax coupe cult..............must remember not to bend over like that when there are Falconuts around

Still got the 327......had a 65 Mustang here for a while but got sick of wrestling with the steering to keep the 'stang on one lane! P.S. did Mustangs ever come with working brakes or should I have paid extra????

I recieved a few requests for more pictures of my falcon, so here goes!

1961 Ford Falcon Tudor Deluxe Wagon

    FAQ:
Q: Did you drill 102 small holes for acorn nuts just to make a statement?
A: Hell no, I'm not that ambitious! The deluxe models have stainless trim that covers the entire side of the falcon. Unfortunaly I have neither the money for the Mac's repop clips nor have I taken the time to source an alternative. Yet. :D

Powered by a 260 V8 that I rebuilt last summer. A good story there too. Apparently, from what I've been told, the first Ford dealership in Wisconsin (or maybe Sauk county) was here in Reedsburg. My 60 some year old buddy and mechanical mentor (taught me quite alot, exspecially about johnson/evinrude outboards) was actually a mechanic there before it closed down. We even used some of the old tools from there. Stupidly, I took very few pictures. One I remember quite particularly is a holder that you mounted to the work bench and you could bolt a cylinder head to it.

Behind the 260 sits a three speed manual that needs gone through sooner or later. It's not broken so it aint been fixed yet, but it's nearly there. Probably will look in to that this summer.

The interior is not much to look at. Swapped in early mustang buckets, $5 swap meet tach on the column. Oil pressure and temp guages are hidden in the glove box.

Final interior color will be black. I'm not fond of the steering wheel but I was 15 when I bought it. It's funny how your tastes can change between 15 and almost 19. Not a long time but, a heck of a lot happens. I'm going to go back to the original style wheel for '61, but in black. More to happen in the interior as soon as I pay off tuition for the semester and pay my taxes.

Striping on the back was done by my dad. He doesn't think its much but I couldn't be happier. He'd never done it before, picked up some brushes, practiced for a month, and away he goes. He's quite handy at it. No Von Dutch, but pretty cool for small town Wisconsin.

Well thats all I got for now!

    Hope ya'll enjoy.

  13. One of my favorite cars is the 63 Sprint. We overhauled the 260 in one in my auto shop class in 1971. I learned a lot about Falcons that year. :)
The styling were so clean then. Teh Sprint had a lower roof than the standard 'coon.

This is my fathers car. One owner, bought new about October 1967. I learn't to drive in it in about 1984. Original 200ci eventually ruptured with a water leak and was swapped out for a 221. Sharp folk will notice the 5bolt stud instead of the 4bolt. Diff was swapped out for something larger and the front has had a mcpherson strut conversion with adjustable shocks and height adjustable coil overs. Large vented discs with alloy calipers pull it up.

Further back in the garage is this 'long term project' ute. There are some rust issues but if it is recoverable we will go for mild kustom touches and try and leave the 'patina'. The things my father want to do to the coupe... I try and divert to the ute instead.

 Mine if I only had the skills.....

  20. Actually, the Sprint was a trim level for both 2 door and convertibles. The 2 door hardtop did have a lower roof line than the 4 doors or the original 2 door sedan but they could be had in Sprint or Futura trim level. And the convertible and the 2 door hardtop both shared the same lower windshield

Well I couldnt of found a better thread, this is mine and my Dads 63 1/2 sprint. He bought it off the show room floor and it is the first car I ever drove. We have made a few changes. Chopped the top 2 1/8 and lenthened it 6 inches.Put it on an Art Morrison chassis. We are running a 392 Hemi with a Littlefield 671 and an Enderle Bug catcher. I cant tell you how much attention we get every time we race and we are having a blast.Best its gone so far is an 8.54 at 157mph. But we have just started.
All kinds of suttle body mods too, rear tail light are 63 galaxie frenched in and rolled the front Boniville style. The grill is a one off custom built by a friend in Az.

Here is my 63 sprint convert. I have had it for 15 years, bought as a basket case and has been evolving over the years. An original red 4 speed car. 15 and 16 inch wheel, Currier narrowed rear, 93 mustang 5.0 HO EFI, Cobra intake, and toploader 4 speed. Goes like hell and gets 15 mpg.
