Well I ordered my replacement floors from AutoKrafters this past Firday and was anxious to get started on cutting out my old floors.Low and behold got an e-mail today stating that these items are on back order and the manufacturer will be making them in about 45-60 days :0 Man I was hoping to get them in a week or so.Might have to move on to the trunk now and start my metal work there and work my way back up.

On another note might be getting a c4 auto this week and did a little reading on here and some people have said that I may need to do a little banging to make it fit in the trans tunnell.Anyone ever have to do that? Also will be thinking about running a 3.73 gear set up in the rear (it's out of a 67 mustang the beefy one with more ribs on the the outer casing).Any ideas on what stall converter to use along with a shift kit?

I had to do more than 'bang' my trans tunnel...the C4 sits a bit higher, so I had to cut a rectangular hole for the shifter mount, and the top of the tranny...:)

Hey guys so im going to be picking up a falcon within the next few days and need your help. Im 6'7 and was wondering what I can do to move back the bench seat? Right now I fit ok but would like to move it back 2 or 3 clicks if I could. someone was saying theres a track swap out I could get from a chevy or something that would allow to seat to move back more. Anyone know what to use? another thing is lowering it. I know you can block the back but should I also remove the leaf spring also? whqat about the front I heard I could use a mustang lowering spring? any idea? I know I could cut a few coils but I kinda want to do things the right way. Any words of wisdom would be awesome. thanks = )

This is a pic I got of the Falcon someone posted earlier when I saw it running at Coronado. Hopefully it will be there again this year.

Here is a pic of my 64. My plan is to restore it to a 60's style drag car.

What a thread :D I would be honored if my 63 Sprint could join in!! This car has been my first 60's Ford, and a ton of fun. I got it in pretty much stock configuration and gave it a bit of attitude w/ AirRide suspension, American Racing wheels and some garage time...

Any suggestions on how high can I go with a stall converter on a c4 2800-3500 ?
Want a application that will not over rev the engine on long distance driving.
The basics are a 260 bored 30 over stock everything else.Rear end will probably be running 3.73 or 3.50 gears.I think 3.73 will be the highest I could run without it reving too high.Just want something with some bite and still be able to drive it to austin etc.

With a basicaly stock engine you only need a stock converter. If you had a cam change and such you might need more converter. The stall speed of the converter has little to no affect on a daily driver with just a gear such as those you mention, in fact a high stall converter will make for some jerky starts on the street.

    Muncie,
A stock converter with your v-8 set up should be fine. As far as gear ,the lower the gear the more revs you have, more revs more hp.More HP,more fuel.I have a 302 .c-4 ,3:55 gear. AT 65 MPH i am tacking 3,000 RPM. So i think a 3:00 would be plenty enough gear . MY set up drives me crazy at highway speeds. I am going to change mine to a 2:80 or 3:00 gear.
    Just a thought worth cosidering?

Way to go!!! Nice n simple. Am i mistakeing or you used to have a red
gasser 2dor Falcon??a pretty neat one at that also......

Then a question if you dont mind. im after the same kind of pinner white
tyres, i have 14" smothies, what size are those? I'd like to get either
165, 175 in either 60 or 65 profile. Do you know if they made them?
I know there are 185/70 but theyre on the too big side for me. and
cant seem to find who sells them anyway.
Thanx a ton, and props for a nice wagon.

    Hey guys,
So I found a company that makes 2" wide lowering blocks for the car that fits perfect with no mods. My question is most of the falcons ive seen on here only used 2" drop blocks. Why is that? why isn't anyone going to 3" drop in the back? I like my cars low but dont want to mess anything up also. If anyone has any idea why please let me know. Also if you have a picture of a falcon on 3" blocks please post them so I can compair. Thanks so much

with those 3" drop, how is the rear for ride, you hitting the frame much (or are you notched). I like my shit low also, mine is not even close to being low enough. have thought about bagging it but will wait as I am thinking of dropping in a SBC and T350 trans and want to get that all done first (have the motor and trans laying around and I am a chevy man first..)

  30. Heres my 61 more door, it needs a little rust fixing but thats about it, the tires on it are real decent so im just going to get them turned so the white walls are facing and im painting the rims gray and adding beauty rings. than its getting a 2 inch drop!
