  11. I don’t get it....nothing wrong with those cars in my eyes. How are they any different from the tri five chevy “gassers” everyone posts on here?

Falcons have been a staple of gasser's since they came out. Just because they are not tri-5 Chevys or Willys or Anglias does not mean they were not good Gassers. They were cheap to buy, light weight .
I remember a bad Gasser at Miami- Hollywood speedway in the late 60's was a 64 Falcon with a 427 FE. Ran B/Gas.
Might as well post my old Falcon that I got in a trade. 2013-10-10 11.57.11.jpg 1023131321.jpg

All of the following are from the Meltdown 2017. If you like Falcons, you better be there. IMG_6283.JPG IMG_6287.JPG IMG_6289.JPG IMG_6330.JPG IMG_6285.JPG IMG_6291.JPG IMG_6299.JPG

Love Falcons with straight axles. Had one in the early 70s with a 427 side oiler/top loader/9" and econoline. Sure didn't stop well with those drum brakes. Often wonder what happened to it. Like everything else, probably no where as cool as I remember it but that is what is neat about memories, we tend to overlook the bad stuff. At least some people do.

I am enjoying this thread. Had a 61 falcon wagon in 1969 which was my (love wagon with bead curtains) and i didn't appreciate falcons then as i do now. Had a chance to get it back a couple years later when i got a letter from a towing company in northern Ca saying they had it in storage and for me to come and get it for their fees. I declined since it would of cost more then it was worth. There i go again rambling again.......

They look good as long as they are not nosebleed high, and the tires aren't taller than the side profile of the car, if that makes sense. I think too tall rear tire makes the car look silly. Some of the later posted examples here are sweet. "disorderly conduct" and "southern comfort" have the stance just right in my eyes...

  24. Back in the 60's we liked them high. HRP

Falcons were a staple of the strip, whatever the class. Just tread lightly if you classify 'em. Otherwise you'll sure as hell piss in somebody's Wheaties. Plus, they made for some damn wicked street brawlers too!
Like me some Falcons, more please!

Thanks again guys for the pictures and comments...:);)

  27. They don't..from some of them .
Modern wheels , 70's graphics, street freak look, etc. don't belong here either.
Better suited for the F/B Gasser page, where very few have a clue.
This is a 65 and earlier traditional site. Let's try to keep it that way.
