No idea. It was parked in NHRA Museums parking lot today as we were walking out. No one around.

Even clones should be transported with a bit more than a tandem trailer behind a single rear pickup, unless it's local.

Bo Hopkins passed two years ago. He kept the enthusiasm for the movie going.

Wasn't Bo Hopkins in White Lightning with Bert Reynolds. And Ned Beatty? Great movie!

  17. Since you are picking on the way they are being hauled surly you would know that that trailer has tandem duals, way more than capable of hauling that weight…

Big strong tail on a skinny dog...

What would you guess the load rating of those rear tires are and what the tongue weight of that trailer is? What's the margin of safety? Just saying I wouldn't pilot that any long distance.

  20. Most of those axles are minimum of 10,000lb rating. That wouldn’t bother me a bit to tow that anywhere.

I would want minimum an F350 for a tow vehicle, preferably a F450 just for the better braking. I hope that isn’t a F150 pulling it, hard to tell.

That trailer is a gooseneck. Probably rated to 50,000 lbs or more. That’s at least a F250 pulling it, could be a single tire F350. More than enough truck and trailer for the load.

    "Where you going?"
    Uhhhm nowhere. . . .
"Well, you gotta be going somewhere, you left here didn't you?"

  24. That would be appropriate for a field car.;):D

  25. Last one, towing misconceptions are a pet peeve. If the trailer brakes are working and adjusted properly the truck brakes do no more work then they would with no trailer.

  26. Did Falfas car have a big block ?
I know the sound effects of him running through the lights was a small block screaming .
And the movie was set in 1962,,,,the big block wasn’t released until a few years later .
    Any clues ?

You would think coming down a long 6% grade with whatever your towing would want push the tow vehicle and if the tow vehicle does not have adequate brakes they would fade to the point of not being able to stop safely.

  29. Okay,,,,that’s right,,,,Two Lane ,,was before Graffiti .
So,,,they just used a high rpm screamer for the sounds .
Makes sense to me ,,Thanks Johnny .
