When I first saw this movie I was driving a hot rod 1930 Model A pickup and I would have said gimme the Milner Coupe,, Being a hard core Deuce Guy I have always liked the 32's and have owned several over the years in fact I have three 32's in the garage now,,but there is something about that '55 chevy that makes me think that car is a whole lot cooler than the piss yeller coupe! HRP
I gotta go with Milner's car. I just don't like radiused rear quarters. Elsewise, that '55 is badass!!!
i didnt read through all the responses,so it may have been mentioned already, but in REAL LIFE(not in the movie) that 55 would have ate the 32 for breakfast and still be hungry,,,and I DONT CARE WHO YOU ARE,THATS A FACT!!!!!!!!!! if you dont believe that then you must not have a clue,,
i've seen the a tv ad she did recently... what a mess. i voted for the '32. 50'scars just don't do it for me.
Difficult choice, both. Very hard to go against either 1. John's Coupe did sound very badass after he unplugged her. Falfa Chevy just sounded badass! Can we get pic up here of all the major AG cars & including Toad's Vespa? Thanks J168
My choice has gotta be the Milner's '32, but I'd sure like to have the '55 and the '58 in the driveway as well. You can keep the Merc turd & the Vespa and I'll take the T-Bird to round out the collection
I'd go with the '55. I like 32's, but there's a few things about that car that kill it for me. (pipes, firewall, front and rear fenders.)
Neither. 55's are everywhere, and that yellow thing's ugly. If I were forced to pick one, I'd sell it
One in the same,do some research. HRP[/QUOTE] I know they are. I said that because I prefer how it was setup for two lane.
Well, the times they are a changin'. If I recall, when this poll was first posted, the Milner car was hands down WAY ahead of the 55. Now the 55 seems to be closing the gap a little bit. Does this trend indicate that the more recent members joining the HAMB are inclined to like the "newer" cars? If it continues, maybe the price of 32's will come down......
I had trouble deciding because I knew Falfa's 55 was really the TLB car. But I went with the 32, it just looked the part better for the movie. It wasnt a nice high dollar street rod but a "real" kinda ratty hot rod.
If American Graffiti had not been made, that '32 would be laughed off the hamb in a second. I'd take the '55 in a heartbeat.
I call bullshit. Because when I first saw it in '73, it was monster cool then. Your avatar though does bring a chuckle. If it wasn't for American Graffiti and the Coupe, some might argue that there would not have been a HAMB. That film and car were responsible for giving hot rodding a kick in the ass. The hobby/lifestyle was pretty marginalized in 1973.
