Hi Stan ! I missed Macungie and will not be at Fall Carlisle (wife has health issues) but I am still hitting the swap meets when I can.
The new "vendor vehicle" looks perfect...good to see you are doing well

I plan on going. Is there a good day, probably more of a bad day to go? I figure since Sunday has lower admission a lot of vendors have left. I was thinking Thursday. Looking for a 1939 Ford windshield, frame not gl***. Maybe some other '39 parts.

Thursday and Friday are great days to walk the swap meet. Saturday starts ok, but some vendors are packing up by noon. Sunday is a great day to go to Church, not so much Carlisle. The North field is a good place to start as it is more likely to have newer vendors and better bargains. Most of the spaces in the ‘front’, as you enter gate 1, are occupied by long term vendors and can be pricey. With Hershey coming the following week, you are more likely to find pre-war parts at Fall Carlisle. Now if someone would dry out our weather...

Also I saw the solution to the problem I didn't know existed. Table leg stretchy things. IMG_20181002_132304611.jpg IMG_20181002_132319751.jpg "No longer do you have to endure the shame of exposed swap meet table legs".

That's all for now, till I go back. Unsure what day that will be, but I'll stop in in you then , Stan. I left around three when it started raining.
Turned on the weather when i got home, looked like a whopper of a storm was heading that way.

Beautifully primed grey 39 tudor doesnt hide all the rust that fell onto the running board on its ride to Carlisle , too funny.
Have to get back there from down under again, we had a blast last time.

Here's the OP for this thread. In full swap meet mode, helping out a customer.
One day I want to see that '55 custom wagon in person. Stan stumped me on a pair of tri 5 seat brackets. Viewed from the top and side by side, I couldn't figure out what they were!

Next picture is a mystery to be solved. What is the long, peaked stainless piece?

This 39 is owned by a man named Gary. Recently, he drove it to Washington state! He has driven it to each of the 48 continental US states, and reports no desire to try Alaska or HI.

^^^^^Great coverage, Steve!......Love that '55 Chevy number 27 Stock Car.^^^^ Brings back lots of memories of watching races at Beltsville Speedway back in the late 60's/ early 70's.

  29. Thanks Steve for all the great photos! I feel like I'm there. I normally never miss Carlisle. This year I took the wife to the beach. { Where it just happens to be the endless summer car show} a coincidence ?;) lol I liked the photos of Gray's 39 coupe. He stops by my place on his travels. I don't think anyone drives their Hot Rod more than he does. A real KOOL guy. Ron......
