with the recent cool nights i couldnt help thinking that the fall jefferson swap meet is coming up sept 22-24. if you need anything high performace chevy i will be bringing several truck loads. im located across from the main food barn. look for the vintage trailer. im ready for a big bar.
Doesn't look like I'm going to make it to the Fall Jefferson Swap. Too many things going on all around it.
After vending there for 16 years spring and fall I quit 10-12 years ago. Might be time to go back. If for no other reason than to have a big bar.
I am going to try something radical this time. Iam going to spend the next couple of weeks getting stuff together instead of waiting till 2 days before the show. lol I have been doing this since 1992. I keep saying this is the last one, but it's an addiction I have never found a 12-step program for. I am in WX105 to 111. That is unless I am getting a Big Bar, another addiction I can't kick.
https://www.madisonclassics.com/events/fall-jefferson/ Our 46th annual Fall Jefferson Swap Meet & Car Show will be held September 22, 23, 24, 2023 at the Jefferson County Fair Park located just off Hwy 18 at 503 North Jackson Ave. in Jefferson, WI. I am planning to go, and will be keeping my eyes peeled for a Buick 300 flywheel and a few other things.
I will be there with my usual 8 spots. I will have a Model A Sedan project, Magnesium Rear Wheels, and lots of parts. Best part is, I am not married to any of it. Stop by and say "Hi" or better yet, buy some stuff. WH 134-137 WI 134-137
weather looks great 80s and sunny. im loaded up with probably more than my space can hold. as things sell i will restock.
I'm ready to go. I hit the grocery store so I don't have to eat burgers all weekend. We eat real good. Fridge is stocked with beer. Two Jars of shine are loaded. I cooked up two packages of bacon tonight so I just need to re heat it. I have my meals all planned out. I take my vintage camper loaded with parts. That way I have a place to sleep and make food. I never have to leave my spot. 1967 forester. Sleeps four. Four burner stove; fridge; sink; heat; water what more do you need. Being on high ground is everything.
Lot of rain today there. Going Friday need a couple things I'll never likely find. Bet I have walked 500 miles around that place in the last 25 years or so. Wore the tires of my wagon.
hopefully anybody that wanted a big bar got it on Friday. Heard their main freezers were down for 9 days and they had limited stock.
I walked it all on Friday. Scored one set of Wheel Smith smoothie rims with 40 ford caps for $250 . One 28 workable model hood A hood $90 ( still want a better one ) THEN on the way outat 4:00 PM the dirty pair of 14" fake Torque Thrusts That the guy had been telling every one all day were actually 15x6 early US made real Americans Torque Thrusts (Sports?) with a 2" + offset and I gave him $100 for the pair before he could change the price . Cant believe nobody measured them all day or cleaned the back off I walked by them twice early and decided they might be good on a utility trailer and when I wiped the grease off there was American with 15x16 cast right on them . Ford pattern 5 x 4.5" Lot of stuff there id liked to buy . God day there
Had a good time. It only rained after show hours. I found some nos still in the boxes 427 emblems for my 66 chevelle. I found a piece for my lathe I was looking for. I hit the guy selling towel rolls to restock the trailer and shop. I was able to sell a couple grand worth of parts. All in all good times.
Got a Flathead m19 oil pump new in box for 25 and some old Johnson adj lifters for 15 bux! Almost got a stromberg 97 for $10 paid the guy and was checking out his other stuff then he realized he got it mixed up with some other carb. Gave me $10 back and I gave him his 97 Lol probably a hamber in here
Had a blast at Jefferson this fall. My kids were selling right along side of me which was really a blast. Great weather, not too hot, not too cold. I sold my Palamides mags to a young guy for his ride, sold an entire lot of License Plates to one guy and sold all my die cast to another guy. The rest was smaller dollar items. The only downfall of the weekend was en route on Thursday when I had a tire blowout. never had one of those before but luckily @ahshoe was in for the rescue.
