It's that exiting time of the year for the fall jefferson. Who is all going? Looks like great dry weather.
There is a Jefferson thread on page 4 a few people have responded there as well. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/jefferson.1315235/page-2 Dan
On my way home from Jefferson. Sold a handful of items on Thursday. Friday and Saturday were a joke. No crowd either day and $11 in sales on Saturday. The nice part was shopping as I'm gathering parts for my 55 gasser. People were very willing to deal, dare I say give stuff away with the lack of people. I heard the spectator gate was $15 per person this year. Spaces, I believe, are around $80 a piece. While I get everything is more expensive, something has to change or this meet is going to be in big trouble in a couple years. It is sad because this and the Spring Jefferson are my favorite events of the year.
I had no problem selling several grand. Bring parts guys want and price accordingly. Trying to sell rusty buckets of bolts and Bernie babies etc don't sell.
I find it quite funny, dare I say intriguing, that a certain group of items will sell at one swap meet and the next swap meet, I won't even get somebody to look at them. IE sometimes carburetors are hot, sometimes no one cares.
Spent 16 years going to both Spring and Fall meets at Jefferson and always brought the unwanted parts. If intakes were hot in the Spring, mine were at home and I brought shifter handles. Bring intakes to the Fall meet and nobody wanted them everyone was on a shift handle binge.
