My 36 gets a little warm in the summer when i get caught in traffic......so i put a 10 inch pusher fan on it last summer when i had the front sheet metal off to replace the engine. I just hooked it up to a extra switch on the bottom of the dash....it helped a bunch. So i have been thinkin (oh hell watch out!!!!!) i only have about 1/2 inch between the rad and the puller fan so when i have to go into it for... say a water pump... a 30 minute job is going to take all damn day (take off the hood...pull the grill...pull the rad and so on). Any of ya'll had any luck using JUST a pusher fan? The 350 is a 330 horse crate nothin fancy but it halls me and the coupe around pretty good. The 10 inch is all i could get to fit because my AC coil is in front of the rad also. I put the 10 inch at the top... so i could maybe get a 8 inch at the bottom to help. What do ya'll think? Any ideas or info would really be helpful. If it wasn't for mantinence i probably wouldn't mess with it. Thank/s guys, 36bootlegger
Pusher fans are only 50% as effective as manual pullers/ Keep your puller, its worth the headache of removing the front end to get at the engine..
Sounds like you want an electric fan. Be honest with yourself... how often have you been in there to do a water pump? How often do you plan on being in there? If you want it... do it... But don't spend money and time trying to save time.
I have both, but this year I think I am going to drop the pusher and replace the puller with a new Cooling Components fan and shroud unit. Current system gets a little warm (about 200- 225) when sitting in traffic, but have never had a major problem. Hoping the new unit will be even better.
