Sorry it should read ‘Faria tachomoter’ Quick question, there is a Faria tachometer for sale by me. The description says it is for a 6 cyl and it looks to be in good shape. I have a few quick questions: 1) can I use this on my 57 Ford with a v8? I am Not aware of a tach being set up for a specific number of cylinders. I thought they would work on any engine. 2) it looks to just have a single wire coming off of it. What all would I need to get it working? 3) is something like this worth it as a diagnostic tool? I am looking to get it so that I can keep tabs on my engine. I don’t have a sports car, just want something to show me the health of my engine. OK it does look really cool! mike
If it does not have an external interface, and is a dedicated 6-cylinder tach, you can use this: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_I...HGDtJSSxzuZskKQFtgwzQMBJwV_eHjSkwBzA_8rzhR4PT I have used these on vehicles that went from 4 to 6, and from 6 to 8, to retain the existing tach. $77.50.
Faria is well respected for marine application gauges but, I believe, in the early '90's they made automobile instruments for a year or two. I like mine a lot and the company was very helpful in supplying bulbs. .
Damn autocorrect! OK fixed now-I hope. Here is the tach that I am looking at, they state that it is a mid 60's tach. Mike
