How strong little fine thread screws really are.

Finishing up the upholstery, door seals, door adjustments, windshield seals and adjustments, and I stood back for a look.

All that holds that windshield in for 86 years is 6 each .375" long number 10x32 screws.

Glad the restomodding included putting new hi tinsel screws in cause she goes markedly faster now with 225 horses instead of 77.

Boeing C47 (DC3) wings are held on by 1/4-28 bolts and nuts.

Back in '76 I attached some brackets with rivets. One person would look and make the comment is that strong enough and the person next to them would say thats how airplanes are held together. 3rd world countrys use alot of rivets putting big truck frames together.

My Lincoln windshield is held in by 10 or 12 sheet metal screws around the garnish. I figured they were threaded fasteners, but nope, just threaded into the metal frame. I was even more surprised when they all came out easily.
