Even though it's dangerous as hell, and you could possibly die, it would still be a way cooler death than cancer or some stupid disease! I think I'd rather go out in a 200 mph ball of fire than slip away in a morphine induced coma. I dont know what do you guys think? so now for the bragging... I hit the limiter in my my old 94 mazda 626 jump vehicle one time at 111 that was scary. It just bounced up and down the highway all the way. I thought I was going to take off into the air a few times! I've had the needle on the speedo pinned in my 64' Beetle which means I was going at least 95-100. Motor was screaming though so it could have been more. Did that right after I got a new gears put in and had the engine built up. Way less scary than the mazda I think mostly because it's low and the suspension is stiff. Did 130 in a 76 camero with a 383 in it and Bias ply's not really scary that thing was a tank. It would shred those tires though. haha oh yeah and I did 85 in my 49' chevy that had drunk steering and bouncy as hell suspension.... I thought the motor was going to explode had an old straight 6 in it. scaryest thing ever.. besides the mazda jump vehicle hahaha.

I've done 138mph on my 66 chevelle, 350 ci. 520hp , th400 , 4.11 rear gear. 11.20 sec 1/4 mile. I know I could do faster if I stay on the pedal but thats a big risk at 7,900 rpm
Hell yeah!! I did the same on an tuned 1100 suzuki with no fairing, shit me that was hard, just hanging on at that speed and keeping my head up with the weight of the crash helmet, and like you said slowing down was a real struggle. After that I changed the gearing so it'd only do 150 flat out but get there bloody quick. That bike was a lotta fun. As for a car, did 130 in a Lotus turbo in a 50 zone, very reckless and stupid, but again, fun. Got my old 59 Desoto up to 100 and had an old vespa to 55mph, not sure of the lot which was the scariest but I deffinately won't do 55 on a scooter ever again.
my brothers 74 fast back torino with a 70 4v cleveland, motor wasnt stock, speedo topped out at 125,it was pegged, tach was onley around 5 grand and still climbing,so i would say 130-135 ,LOL chickened out befor the the tach stopped climbing
140 in a 93 bmw 325is and had the 120 mph speedo pegged on a 72 impala. The really stupid thing was that on the impala I had 13 inch wire wheels at the time when I was into lowriders...I just think now what could have happened if one of them skinny tires blew out. hahaha
I was doing 80 the other day in my F150 and some guy blew by me at about 100+ on a bike ON A WHEELIE! I don't know what kind of bike it was - it was yellow..ish.
8.8s / 158mph on quartermile. Same mph on highway, which was stupid even when it was done with Ferrari.
My girlfriend's dad let my take his Z06 out a few weeks ago. We got it up to about 125 on the interstate. I was too nervous to go any faster, especially with his daughter riding shotgun. I'm still waiting for him to ask me if I want to take it for a spin again though!!
I had my old car, a '96 Impala SS, to 130. It was still pulling, but I needed to slow down to make some turns on the highway. That was the smoothest car I've ever drove. I took my '30 Chevy to 113 once, and the best part was it only turned about 3800 with the 3.00 gear in the rear! I've broke both of those in my buddies '05 GTO that's twin-turbocharged. Even though I was riding shotgun, it's still an experience being in a 560 horse car (and that's rwhp!)
143 hopped up honda civic it gets scary when you can feel air make the car want to rise off the pavement
In order of earliest to most recent. 145 in a 68 GTX as a passenger (my mom was driving) 165 in 98 Corvette (totaled it in 2000) 140 in 05 Dodge pickup 130 in 34 Ford Yeah I may not be the sharpest stick in the box but I’m havin’ fun. Now that I look at, I'm slowin' down...
ive shut my 04 ls1 gto down at 155 and been around 160 in my dad 03 vette. had a 88 buick lesabre t type witha 3.8 and lived in a farming comunity, my dad who worked on everyones car including all the local pds so i never cought shit for anything. almost everyweekend me and some budies would always go boonie crusin get all juiced up and just fly. the car was super arrowdynamic and would just squat and keep on going. speedo went to 85 i think but i know that i was around 130 almost everytime. be nice to hit 200 before i die at least acouple seconds, imo i think anyhting past 110 is all the same. telephone poles look like a fence row......
A quiet, older dude joined our nostalgia drag club a couple of years ago, he raced a street '62 corvette. Since I have been at such insanely high speeds before (like 130) , I thought I'd give him some advice on licensing: Him: "I'm building an altered like yours, I already have my license" Me: "Well, you're gonna need a competition license" Him: "I used to race top alcohol dragster, I've been 256.." Me: "Oh" (crickets chirping) Needless to say his altered went 7's first pass!
In 1969, 140 mph in my soon to be brother-in-law's metallic nassau blue '66 vette coupe w/side pipes. He was driving, I was 13. We rolled away the barrels of the nearly completed section of interstate 84 near Newburgh, NY. Never been the same since (or that fast again). It was awesome.
bitch'n. and to think it was 25+ years ago. even more bitch'n you're chasin' after it again this year in a nostalgic ride. right on~
170 in a 427 Cobra-----------back straight @ Riverside raceway ( dating myself here ) and 160 in a '69 Camaro on the 210 freeway with 4 guys in the car. Stupid is a stupid does.Nothing sounds like a big block @ 5500 in high gear.
140 mph(on water) while puckered to the passenger seat of a friends Blown Fuel Flatbottom(f*cking terrifying)
Domestic cars, I got a 73' Dodge Duster with a 360ci to 140. Sadly a Japanese car is the fastest I have been i so far. I drove my friends 300zx twin turbo, with all Stillen up grades and a stage 3 cluch and flywheel 172mph. I would have gone faster but the freeway was starting to curve and I felt as if I was going to take off like jet. I also took it 165mph another day. All you San Diego kats that are familiar with the 125 north to 8 west merge, I was able to go 90mph through the turn pike only because the Hicus 4-wheel steering. O how ever you spell it.
have set the cruise in my old chrysler at 100..for a few miles ...lost 20 bucks daring a friend in his custom dodge van he could not go the full 9 mile distance stop sign to stop sign between to country towns at over a hundred ... the sidepipes were blowing greyash dust all over the rear tires.... was fun and pretty stooopid
155 in my Firebird, not sure in my 67 chevy pickup. The speedo will go back around to 20 mph what ever that is. That was when I had the olds 455 in it.
150 in a Porsche on an awesome driving road near my house before I had to start slowing for the next corner. 165 on my brothers Honda CBR. I also got popped doing 135 on that bike, cost me about 1500.00. The cop was actually really cool about it. It was the judge that stuck it to me.
