Man.. I got to admit, I've cracked over 140 in my 68 mustang.. and busted over 100 in almost everything else I owned until the computer shut it down.. seems most newer OT cars I owned wont go over 105 stock.. guess maybe I shoulda thought to add a chip or something..sheesh
It's absolutely traditional! Just like back in the day - right down to the traditional passenger seat where YOU would be sitting, instead of driving your own car and posting your fastest run on here. C'mon, you've made some pretty famous banzai runs - how fast were they? And by the way, your son's (Bullwinkle) Porsche is a total badass - I bow down to it...
160mph in a nissan skyline in okinawa japan scary ride they don't have many good straight roads there
I did 140 in a buddies Maserati Bora, I think in 2000. We were up in NH or VT on a very nice empty road. Haven't done that fast again. (The Bora is on the front on the ferry, my Jag in the back) Though another friend had his 32 Sedan at about 110 or so outside of Salt Lake. Fun.
how about how fast in a 1/4 mile ? ... and not 3 miles ... 1/4 mile for me is 118 open road all my gm cars the comp. shut the motor down at 116 ...
Clocked doing 148mph in a 45mph zone on a 1986 Honda CB750, didn't catch me but found me when I stopped, and he was come off a side street and could not tell what color helmet I had on! just as he gets really into hassling me and guy I graduated with ride up on the same year, same model bike, same color , but a different color helmet... priceless got up to 130 mph ( where the speedo stops) in my 1999 ex Michigan state police Chevy Tahoe... and taken off so quick in while I was riding with my Dad in his 1964 Ford Fairlane/ThunderBolt I could barely touch the dash and he was in 3rd gear already...
I wish I could remember the MPH on our old SS/D hemi GTX; but I ran 10.70's with it back in the day, '74 or '75. I've run 7 flat at 192 MPH on my turbo funnybike, a little more than a dozen years ago, front wheel in the air the whole trip. My old ZX10 Ninja would indicate about 175 with just me, had it indicating over 155 with the wife on back one evening. Haven't been too fast for a while. This is me...
195 mph in a Ferrari 430. Could'nt snap pictures at that speed, So we were coming down at this point. Major turbulance, with top down. I was surprised. A hand full. Indy and road course guys get one hell of a workout.
I've went 108,000km/hr (67,108 miles per hour). That's fast enough to go around the earth in 7 minutes or to the moon in aproximately 4 hours.
Earth orbits the Sun at an average distance of about 150 million kilometers every 365.2564 mean solar days, or one sidereal year. The orbital speed of the Earth averages about 30 km/s (108,000 km/h), which is fast enough to cover the planet's diameter (about 12,600 km) in seven minutes, and the distance to the Moon (384,000 km) in four hours.[7] ...And I went that fast with the kids in the car!!!!
Been fast racing some bikes and cars, but really fun going 160mph + for 23 miles wide open in a 928S. It is amazing how mellow and smooth that car is at those speeds for such a long time. It sure cuts down the trip time. Best to do in the middle of the night on an abandoned freeway in the boondocks where there is no one to hurt buy yourself, and no road entrances or intersections etc Wil www.sakowskimotors.com

Looking back, I can honestly say that I was real stupid. Now just stupid. Fastest in a car..... 150mph+ in a 70 340 Duster. Took many tries to peg the 150 mph speedo. Ended up having to put sheet metal under bumper to keep the front end from coming off the ground. on a dam (type that holds back water and produces hydroelectric power) 120+ mph on ice in a 66 Barracuda w/ 340. The stopping was the issue; dams are built in valleys. The first turn was a challenge; only lost my bladder on that one! I will not mention my 20+ years of Air Force travel.....not much up there to hit. BUDDii
I thought the whole point of going to Bonneville was to see how fast you could go. Wait. Looking at my cars, maybe not.
my dad had a 55 chev a couple years back and we broke the speedo at 110 and it kept going we easily got 130 out of her also my dads old 55 gasser could do 140 on the street rather easily we never had the speedo hooked up as it would have broken straight away
1/4 mile, '48 Anglia, wrecking yard 350, super shot nos, powerglide, death trap front end, Olds rear, 10:33 @ 131 mph. still pulling at the lights. Spokane Raceway................
Went thru radar at 150 mph plus in my buddie's 70 camaro! This was in the late 70's in car running a 475 horse sbc, full cage and ws6 Trans Am suspension on 1970's T/A radials, was a scary ride!
I went 130 once in my mom's "friend"s AMG, not driving. Forgot what year, mid-nineties POS, but it went like hell. Too bad it was diesel! Fastest I've ever driven was 70 on a backroad before my grandma started to scream too loud. Not bad for a 14 year old..
