So fathack showed up tonight for out mini hamb thrash on the 50! we got the damn boat anchor in place, and a few other things attached to it. what a pain in the**** that was. last time i even put one of them in with the trans attached! ill be cutting it very close but should be done o say about 5 min b4 i have to leave for denise's party! just wanted to say thanks to fathack for comming all the way across town in traffic just to get dirty. with out his help i could not have got this thing in there. so a big thanks to you! o and the funny thing is the onley tool i picked up all night was a 3 foot pry bar o wait i all so used a 2 foot one for those hard to reach places see ya all saterday!! Bryan
Ha Ha...no problem, Bro...it was FUN! (except for that traffic thing!) (And you also picked up a 3/8" wrench..remember? The one I kicked to ya under the car? ) HRTH was right...with an old wheel jammed under one front tire and a bellhousing under the other...the floor jack held the torque tube up while DirtyT laid under the car and muscled the trans up over the crossmember...and I got to "drive" the cherry-picker and shout out encouragement from above! Just hope the fuse on that bomb of a motor lasts long enough to get ya through this weekend!! I'll call ya when it's time to drop a REAL muscle motor into MY Chevy!!
Great to hear the team of "Dirty and Fat" are back at it again!! ........good luck guy's .........I hope the 50 get's out and about for the weekend!!
Way to go guys! I hope Bryan makes it... And Greg, the fuse should be pretty long, after all, it lasted awhile in Donzies car! Jay
Was he wearing his tights and cape? Or is that avitar false advertising? RASHY
I left the 'Jammies at home, Rashy...no fair "cheatin" with frivolous use of Superpowers!!! And what's up with the LAST remaining Detroit area Hardees changing their name to "Arnie's"??? I stopped there on the way out...and some dudes were paintin' the building all different colors to go with the new sign! Walked in and the menu looked about the same, though! (Whew!). Strange place, though...the employees were all wearing loud**** Hawaiian shirts...I thought Boyd might have bought the joint or somethin'. Then, the two hottest chicks behind the counter started hugging and flirtin' with each other...how's a feller 'sposed ta eat his sourdough bacon cheeseburger with THAT goin' on??!! And, I dunno about that endorsement on the motor, Jay...Donzie isn't used to high winding motors...Dirty might forget himself and try a 7000rpm powershift...ding ding ding...Number FIVE comin' right up!! Motor #4 went in without TOO much trouble...hope ta see that heap motorin' around this weekend! Damn...I kinda wanna go ta Arnie;s again...
Ok, I musta missed something along the way. What motor are you puttin' in that thing? I thought it was a Canook 250 or something. If it's the 216 that came out of my Chevy, it did run good but had a tendancy to make it's spot where ever it stopped (keep a couple of quarts of oil in the trunk). The rearend had 411s in it so it wound right out. Hope to see you at Billetproof.
The Great White Northern 261 six popper was bound up...so he nabbed your old 216 from Jay... We dropped it in last night, trans and all as a complete unit with his Offy dual carb intake and Fenton split manifold on it for good measure...oughtta sound sweet!! Best part is that he get's to help me drop a FULL PRESSURE OILED, overhead cam Full Exotica race motor with an aluminum block into my Fleetline in about a week or so!!!

They call them Carls Jr. here. Same damn thing though. Even have the Stoned Star. RASHY
Yo, Dirty...didja get that thing runnin' yet??? Hope ta see ya at Denise's later today...I wanna go for a RIDE, Bro!
well ive been out there for a couple hours. and its not going to be done today. there was to many things modified for the 235 to work. and i dont have enough time to redo all the*****. manley the linkage for the dual carbs is way way off. cause i had to change all the bends in it to work with the 235. that took like 4 hours to get it to work with out binding up on the 235.o yea and that*****ing bar the damn bar i want to kill! well slamming and bending on it for the last two weeks didnt do much for the core support so now thats all outa wack and the rad hits the fan so im just going to tow it down to my buddys garage and have full air tools and a nice shop to work in and to it*****ing right. all this rushing***** is no good any way im just going to end up*****ing***** up i guess. it is a sad reality to not being able to make it but id rather have it get done right and not just thrown together cause im in a hurry then have sumtin break on the way. thanks to every one who helped me out. see you all in a few hours and some one better have a beer waiting for me haha i need one bad!!
Hey, Man...I hear ya! I wanted my heap runnin' by this weekend, but OOOPS! Better to work the***** out right than to end up hunting down motor number FIVE over sumthin' stupid! I was kinda wantin' to bend ya up some clean new fuel lines and re-work that linkage for ya the other day...but we ran short on time and I didn't have my "instant fab" tools and supplies with me!! The offer stands, though! Maybe next weekend I'll be ready to yank my dead 216 and try the initial test-fit of the new motor...if ya wanna lend a hand...you're more than welcome to join in on the FUN!! (If you can stand being****ociated with the process of InVEGArating a Fleetline! )

I think the Aliens would frown on using the 'Jammies to build cars...but I really wouldn't KNOW... ...lost the damn INSTRUCTIONS!
DIRTYT.........you put up a great fight bro........the car might be ahead on pionts right now in the early rounds but once you get that****** in a proper shop with the right tools ........WHAM BAM!!!!.........knock out time and you'll have her up a motoring!!!!..........see ya at the party..........I'll be the guy holding one mother of a beer with your name on it Bryan!!!!!...........count down is on!!
yea im down for next weekend hack! i told my buddy about the vega motor thing you should have seen the look on his face it was priceless!!! he just kept saying u mean at least the cosworth vega motor right? and a manual trans right? he just didnt understand why. i thought it was funny. im all about the vega motor ill help every step of the way! now u just have to find a rear end! Bryan
I'd lose interest and walk away from the project if I was building just ANOTHER small block Chevy powered old Fleetline...so the Funky Vega Thang keeps me interested and motivated...besides...it's got about five to ten horses on the old 216...and it'll live YEARS longer!! Funny thing, the motor isn't all THAT much shorter than the old Stovebolt...it'll kinda look like it sorta BELONGS there...right outta the 70s!!! We'll get your ride thumpin' too...what size is that fuel supply line comming up the passenger's side frame rail in your car...oughtta be 5/16", no? (I got a couple ideas for a cleaner, easier to install set-up to feed your two carbs if you're game.) See ya this afternoon...we'll sort it all out over a few cold ones!
