    Cool thing to do.

Why did food always seem to taste better at a drive in like that?

    wow!

brings back memories and makes my sight a little blurry. my oldest daughter liked other things so we did them. my youngest, though, went with me to car functions and "one car cruises" all the time. she can still identify more old cars than most non-hambers. she's 29 now and had her 2nd baby yesterday. her husband is a Marine at virginia beach so we don't get to see each other very often any more.

i occasionally let her drive clarence to high school. when she got home on those days she was in heaven. all the boys in school (pretty big school) wanted to know what that old truck was and WHO was driving it. didn't just make her day; made her weeks/months.

she's told me that her sister can have everything else when i go if only she can have clarence in my will.

stay close to your daughter ALL the time. you just blink once and they're grown up and gone.

i take my daughter for drives in my 53,sometimes take her to school in it.she gets a kick out of the attention she gets when we pull in the parking lot.you have to keep them involved if you want them to get the bug......

    yeah, that works today...

when meredith was that age there weren't any cell phones, except the ones the army used that were the size of a jamb box and weighed 5 pounds.

I just showed the thread to madeline who is 11 and she thinks "its cool that so many responded". took the whole herd (wife and 3 girls) on a cruise to the same A&W last night for floats, had a blast. For the hambers in the portland area the A&W is located on HWY 26 between Gresham and Sandy at the 212 overp***. The owner loves hotrods and loves to see them pull in for a bite to eat.

My older daughter was pretty well known as a roadster rider. Something like twelve or thirteen Street Rod Nationals, most in the hiboy. Twenty-seven now, but I think she and I both recall the adventures fondly.

That's awesome my wifes daily driver was a 50 plymouth for a long time. my kids were 3 and 4 when I first got it running and they loved it then. We had to sell it a year ago to pay some med bills , my kids are 7 and 8 still talk and miss the car. That pushes me to get the new projects going, so I can take my daughter out when she gets a little older. It ****s I don't want them to grow up but I also want to see what they become. This is a cool thread.

  17. My 4 year old daughter and I have the day to ourselves since my wife took the boys to a day camp....first thing she said was: "Dad let's take the Riviera to McDonalds...so off we went...1.5 hours later when she was done playing in their little playground off we went for a cruise and now she is cleaning my windows in the Rivi...I'll touch 'em up later but it's been an awesome day with her...
