Faux/Fake valve covers

I've seen a number of fake valve covers, one of my favorites was the Genie shifter covers, whats yours? Yes, I know its wrong

 

IMHO....That ranks right up there with the rolled-up socks in your pants, or your girlfriends implants!!

 

I saw these as just kinda fun

 

I seem to remember seeing some that were intended to mimic a flathead?

Fake valve covers, why are you so ashamed of the engine you have in your car, that you want people to think it is something else?.

I had ford Tent Roof FE valve covers on my 65 Fastback for years. Only 2 Ford Guys ever noticed and asked about the Engine. Goes to show how many people have no Idea of what they are looking at.

I never could understand the reasoning behind this if you have a small block Chevy or heaven forbid a LS why stick olds or maybe YBLOCK covers on I have a lot of time and money in my olds 303 and my yblocks just to have some jack hole try and make there chevy look like them it ruins there engine in my opinion.

 

Maybe the owner is hoping one day to have the real deal rather than a fake?

 

I've got a set of those, nice chevy script covers underneath with a couple studs welded on for the Olds hold downs, they were donated by a friend.

It's kind of funny that some guys will pull the fake BS, then belittle the guy building/driving a gl*** bodied car!!
