I have seen alot of dashes that are nice but cant say that I have a favorite. So lets see what you think the best looking dash in a car is
40 Ford! They must be a BIG favorite, since I see about as many in non-40's as I do in 40's! Bad part about them being so popular, is they gotten to be worth big $$$$$.
Couldn't agree more, but maybe that's because I'm a little biased I would include the '60 models aswell as they started in 1960 with the Dome dashes... 1960 Chrysler NewYorker 1962 Chrysler NewYorker (wagon)...
40 Ford tops the list 42-48 Plymouth is a personal favorite 42-48 Ford is nice too 51 Ford Passenger Car
41 Ford is the most underrated and best example of simple elegance in a dash ever. especially if you chrome plate the normally tan plastic. Also depends on what it's in (or going in)
I like the 58 and 59 Pontiacs best, the 58 especially looks really Buck Rogers space-age with the chrome pods. '57 Olds is another favorite. And I also like the 69-72 Gran Prix or the 71-72 Pontiac fullsize dash, from a driver's standpoint - they wrap around a little, cluster everything in front of you and make stuff easy to reach.
Hard to pick just one- there's so many cool ones, but I like mine a lot, and nobody else has one like it:
love the one in my 49 Plymouth so much, I'm putting one in my 53 Dodge truck. I agree with the hacking the dash for a stereo thing, it always looks like crap. this is what I did to mine. Bud
How could I pick just one... 66 Olds Tornado [compas speedo] 70's pontiac Gran Prix [wrap around] 61-63 T-bird [batmobile] Lots of early 60's big mopar's [dome and cash-register speedo] 55-56 chevy... 57 just dont do it for me like the early ones 57-58 300... Love that 150 mph speedo in a tail fin car. Tho it's completely OT, my all time favorite dash was my Grandfather's late 60's Kenworth. It was steel, chrome, and real wood with what must have been 40 different guages The steel was painted red, the interior was black, and the steering wheel was white. It's quite possible that truck started my automotive love affair.
Nice work Bud! LOVE the car (my dream car but in green metal flake ) and the dash work.... if you've gotta put in a stereo this is the way to go...
I am going to put one out off a 35 Ford car in my Model A Coupe my uncle just got through with his Coupe and this what he used loks pretty good so I decided to go that way with mine.
