Whats your favorite wheelstander past or present??? I always liked Ed the outlow Jones Stagecoach and also loved the old Hell on Wheels army tank!! I would love to take that thing through the toll booth at the Golden Gate Bridge an then lite em up heading into the city!!! See ya JOKER JASON.
For me it's Danny O'Day in the Superwinch 34 Ford. Currently holds the World Record for the quarter mile on 2 wheels. I'm biased I guess though - I work there. Pete
Here's a link to my video. Hemi Under Glass at Mopars at the Strip. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=37554432
loved the Knotts Berry Farm one, the Fire truck and the Stagecoach, my favorite of the truck bodied ones was Chuck Pooles "Chuckwagon" the twin engine version, talked to Chuck at one time about it and he admitted the rear engine was just a dummy, I guess I was too cause I thought it looked cool...
Growing up in the eighties, I got to see this one run many times at Great Lakes Dragway, along with legands like Hemi Under Glass, and The little Red Wagon.
I think the only one I have ever seen actually run is the pick-n-pull or pick-yer-part Chevy Cameo pickup. see it at Bakersfield every year. got a blown and injected something or other in the back right over the wheels. I'm guessing big block Chevy.
I gotta stick with WESTCOAST wheelie poppers, the east coast guys go a little faster but they dont bring the car up as high as the westcoast drivers...me its gotta be Rick Markhams One Nite Stand,Ed Jones trucks andthe godfather of all Bill Maverick Golden
The Chevado! http://www.geocities.com/chevadoracing/ Gary Kleckner used to street race it. It was fully street legal and a show winner. Street Strip and Show! He still has it in Arizona... it used to run 10s @ 140mph... on the rear wheels! For the record, I always thought the Fugitive Corvette was a cheater because it had an elaborate wheelie bar system.
