  10. Ya stole it.... The next trick is finding a place to set it up. Even if I could find one at that price, stuffing it into my packed shop would be all but impossible. Something else would have to go....

I was able to get a Chicago 8 foot pan brake for $500, but that was about 15 years ago. They said they were going to have to pay someone $150 to have it hauled off.

  14. Plus shipping! Is it irony that you took the picture at the gas station? Looks like a good day for a bus ride. Nice unit, wish I could help you get it off the trailer.

  15. Someone else scored as well. Came with tooling.
Too big for my small shop. Maybe I’ll score a small one eventually

  16. Well, its raining, and I have manual wipers on the bus.
So drive with one hand, work the wipers with the other with an occasional defog wipe with a towel.
    all through rush hour traffic.
Oh, the cowl vent leaks on my right foot.

My youngest was with me to spot for lane changes.
    But was fun anyway.

This thing will be 100 years old next year. Needs to be cutting again.
I’ve been busy with other folks projects and other distractions.
I got to get back on track.

But Facebook is an evil en***y that melts your keyboard and makes you go blind from just thinking about going on that site !

Ha ha, nice score, there's some good deals pop up on there for sure.

I miss out on all the fake book deals as i never go on there. Nice score . A neighbour wanted his shipping container gone , we had to hire a crane to lift it over his workshop . We got the container and everything in it. 4’ quick release rollers, 4’ air shear, 3’ brake, scaffolding, plus sundries. He just wanted it gone so he could re fence his property.

Anthony I see the rear door on the bus says, Jesus Saves. (Fill in favourite hockey/soccer star) scores on the rebound!

    Holy Cow!!!

I've never needed a brake enough to ever buy one so I'm not familiar with their value. When I read the comments above I decided to look on Craigslist and FB Marketplace for what the sell for; or at least asking prices. Based on what I found that brake would sell for 2 - 4 times that around here. Also the pix of what I found showed filthy dirty greasy abused tools compared to yours.

    Congrats.

    That's a very nice score!
A few years ago, I p***ed on a Chicago 8' at an estate sale I could have had for $200. It was sitting out in a muddy backyard, left out in the weather (abused tools and machinery are a real pet peeve of mine!!!). Rusty, but salvageable, would have needed a full dis***embly, sandblast, repairs, etc. Not to mention a big wheel loader to get it out to the street. In the end I p***ed as I knew I didn't have room in my garage and I already have a Dreis & Krump 5' brake and a 4' box and pan that pretty much fills my needs.
