    Recently purchased a NOS mallory distributor (part #mallory double-life YC311 A )
After trying to install it into a genuine tripower intake i have noticed the collar of the dizzy is smaller the the hole in the intake. Can anyone confirm the above mention part # is correct for the intake

    thanks in advance

Now you got me worried.:D I bought an early Mallory for my FE and I had the same problem until I replaced the O ring gasket. Mine is a YC-343-HP. Both the dist. and intake are not on the engine and I have nothing to compare it with. I thought mine was wrong too but the new gasket took up all the slop so I feel better. Hopefully the Mallory gurus can help. This is my first FE so I'm a rookie.

It's possible that both of ours still fit the FE. Mine is not a "Double life"

Here is the info on both of the distributors, taken from the Mallory paperwork I have:

    YC311 A - 311A-D 1955-56 256,272,292 CID V8, Ford 8 LH Rotation ( I believe those are Y blocks???)

I ran a Mallory YZ for years in a 390. I think the dist hole is the same for all FEs. But there is a rubber gasket. I have a factory tri-power sitting next to me and the hole appears to be two inches+- with a slight taper...........OLDBEET
