I stopped to see Hamber PJ Garst today in Mankato, KS. He recently bought a beauty of a Nomad wagon for his young family to enjoy car shows. Painted about 40 years ago with Corvette Gold laquer and has black vinyl interior and a 327 under the hood. Of course it has chrome inner fenders and radiator support.
He just lowered it and it looks great. I took these photos on my lunch break. Hope you enjoy it.
Help me show it some love....:D

I think it is magazine worthy and has not been shown or even seen by the public until now....
Look for it at Salina KKOA Lead Sled Show this July....

Can you explain why it has never been seen? Or am I reading too much into those words?

I think he bought it from a family in a small town who kept it in garage but never took it out in public....maybe PJ will clarify that

Way cool. Love the history and that color combo along with those wheels and tires. Looks like an ultimate long hauler.

Oh that's nice. The never seen in public thing may not be as off the wall as it seems. I know of a couple of cars around here that were built years ago and outside of getting taken out once in a great while for a gentle ride around town they haven't ever been shown nor make any cruise nights or events.
One is a super nice shoebox Ford done up in correct early 50's style that guys would go nuts over at the East West No overaheads run but the guy is afraid someone might "judge" the car and find something wrong with it.
And there are the guys who build a really nice car and loose interest in it as soon as it is fully finished and stick it away in the garage and go on to something else but never consider selling it. The Nomad may be the product of something like that.

Ah. Hmm.. When's the KKOA meeting in July?

If the cir***stances turn out to be in my favor, I just might have to make the trip for myself to see this thing.

    Gorgeous.

  25. Wow!

They don't get much better than that!

sweet lookin' car , always liked that gold because i guy i worked with when i was 16 at the body shop, painted about 5 of his cars and van too !! all because he said he was color blind and gold just looked good to him haha ,he taught me how to run a buffer too, back when a buffer felt like a cement block after about 4hrs of runnin' it !!
