Thanks for posting pics of a really nice car. I put 60,000 miles on one of those, and I still like them a lot. Of course that was a while ago. I bought it for $500.00 and drove it home. Don't we wish that was possible today.

I guess it goes to show, you don't really have to do a ton of stuff to a Nomad to make it look fantastic. What a stunning car.

i LOVE that wagon!!!!!!!. i love 2dr wagons and that one is top of my list. now i dont want to piss anyone off,but if that baby was mine id take them big ww off. those tires kinda pull the contrast out off the tire and chrome reverse wheels.ithink the wheels would look better contrasting between the chrome and the black. the white pulls that contrast to a halt.anyway beautiful car, just beautiful!!!!! almost makes me want to go and hide my car.lol

'55 Nomad, my favorite year (dig the wheel wells)..this car has the "look".

  8. I agree, that Nomad is Purrr-fect in Gold!!!

And I would agree that Gold is a special color, I think the chrome has something to do with the BANG effect!

I like it on this sectioned shoebox too, is that the same color?

  10. I just saw the 55 Nomad HAMB thread that came to me in an email so I registered.
I just completed my restoration of a 55 Nomad last Friday. Here is some history related to the car...
The car was purchased from the dealer in 1955 by my wife’s Grandfather, who was a radio personality in Denver. Ken p***ed away suddenly about a year later. Ken's wife Marcialea did not drive the car but saved it for her daughter Karla. Karla drove the Nomad through high school and college. Karla married and the Nomad went to Karla’s younger brother Kirby. Kirby placed the car in storage in 1970. The car was acquired by me in January of 2011 and trailered to Arizona with 98,050 original miles. The Turquoise/Ivory gem equipped with a 265 cubic inch V8 and Powerglide automatic transmission just underwent a complete restoration. I don't know how to attach photos like the Nomad post did.

Thanks everyone for all the nice things you have said about our nomad. We have only owner the car a couple of months and my family and I really enjoy it. It was frame off restored in the 70's just 30 miles north of my hometown. Then the car was sold to another guy 30 miles west of my house whereit sat in a building for 22 years and only came out for nice sunday drives. I heard about the car and purchased it. I lowered the car last week and put power brakes on it. We are planning on taking our family vacation in it this summer to mount rushmore. Thanks again everyone I am glad you like it .

That is just one cool ride. I can't wait to see it for real in Salina,KS in July and hear all of the details. Every car has a story and this one's story has got to be a good one. Thanks for posting Paul.

Great looking car! I just picked one up that's been sitting for 30 years and plan on doing it 60's style. Went to Goodguys Del Mar last weekend and I swear every Nomad there had at least 18 inch wheels on them. Just doesn't seem right.
