Features Feature identification 46 ford super deluxe

I can’t find anywhere on the line that identifies this on my car. It runs up the middle of the windshield and through the roof. Knob spins but what for?

 

Radio antenna.

Yup, it's the antenna. push it up all the way for radio stations and down when radio is off.

 

There is one on the fender too. AM radio, why two antennas? Also, just to note, it has the foot switch to change stations.

 

I have a similar antenna only it will turn the antenna in all directions for better reception . Same as a vintage 1950s portable TV antenna . My antenna has ofcourse a swivel base which yours does,nt.

 

Roof is original Ford, fender is JC Whitney.
