Anyone know the difference between these 2 full sets offered by Fel Pro. They both apply to 1979 Chev. 350, have the same gaskets, but are priced differently. FS7733PT2- Full set ($75.00) 260 / 1000 Full Set ($40.00)
me thinks the "FS " # is the fel pro real deal, whilst the 260 / 1000 is the "white box" variety. cheaper head gaskets, no printo seal on the intakes etc........If it's something just to ***emble & send down the road...use the cheapo stuff, just blow a little copper coat on the head gaskets. If this going in something to be dead nuts reliable, i'd use the Genuine Fel Pro just my .02
I've run the KS2600 set on all my stuff many times. I believe Summit has them for about 31 bucks. They are the good stuff, BlueStripe, in a brown box.
yep. this is right, felpro like most manufactuers now have 2 'lines' high end and bargin. and honestly the cheaper stuff is not total ****.
Our FelPro 'FS' sets have ALL gaskets and seals, sometimes more items than you need. Our Sealed Power gasket kit #260-1000 is all FelPro (since we own both of these companies) but is designed as a gasket kit for the person that just needs the majority of the gaskets, does not enclude valve seals, EGR gaskets, etc. We also offer this same style of kit in our FelPro brand under part number KS2600. So, with out getting into a tremendous amount of detail, get the 260-1000 or KS2600, and you'll be set to go. For the record, WE, FelPro/Federal Mogul Corporation do NOT have a cheap line of gaskets. We do NOT want your engine to leak, which is what you will have with cheap gaskets. Glenn Hayes Performance Team Executive Federal Mogul Corp.
In other words, KS is the kit set, which is what the engine rebuilders buy. The FS full set is what you'd buy at the parts store, it has all the extra installation gaskets.
