Looks like atch has it covered. I did it because I don't realy have much to do right now what with no job to keep me busy. So if anyone needs some help let me know.

Frank, maybe you can check your records and see if he ordered one of your HAMB drags videos last year. If not, maybe you could send the family a video of that great day. If I remember correctly you got him racing quite a few times.

[/ QUOTE ]Also, maybe you could print this whole post and send it to the family with the video. It might give his family a understanding of the HAMB and some comfort in knowing that he was a well liked guy in the hot rodding world and that he's going to be truely missed by a large group of his peers.

I read your post after I posted that suggestion to Frank. I then just deleted it, but not before you read it and quoted it.. Great minds think alike [IMG]

Looks like I'm a bit late, but this is horrible. Godspeed to him and prayers to his family.

****, just a couple weeks ago, I spent over an hour on the side of the interstate when my front seal blew. Makes you THINK.

bttt for anyone who's wondering what all the other posts are talking about.

because there are a lot of very generous hambers, the flowers are paid for in full with some bux left over. with her permission, i would like to send the extra to cherryblossum to be included in whatever monies are sent to the charity.

i've received several donations by way of paypal and today got two envelopes in the mail. i wouldn't be surprised to find more envelopes in tomorrow's mail.

cherryblossum, do you mind if i send this extra money to you via paypal for inclusion in what you'll be sending?

  9. I too am taken aback by such happenings. I wish his family the best. Such things like this always make me think about our own mortality, LIVE and LOVE like this is your last day on Earth. I didn't know Joplin, but I am very saddened by this. With each opportunity that I get to meet someone new, I am happy I got that opportunity to be a part of their life travels. I regret I didn't have that opportunity with Jerry.

My most sincere regards to all who knew and loved him,
    Reverend Jake

  11. Sorry to hear that...my deepest sympathies to his friends and family.

But for the grace of whichever God you believe in, it could have been any of us.

Pretty disturbing to hear how his wife found out.

Just wanted to let you guys know in case you missed it, we're having a raffle in Joplin's honor, which is pinned at the top of page 1. There's some great stuff being raffled off, from Barnett, Brush, magazines, pictures....TONS of great things. ALL of the money raised will go to the Crazy Horse monument that is being built in SD, which is where his family wanted contributions made. It's such a great cause!

    Thanks [IMG]
