In the newly opened exhibits at the Petersen, there are a number of '30s-'40s cars with fender skirts in a remarkable variety of styles. I thought it was interesting to compare them. All of these are custom made, but there may be useful style ideas here: Lancia Astura, Pininfarina body Bugatti Atlantique Mercedes-Benz Autobahnkurier Peugeot Darl'mat Delage D8, LeTournet & Marchand body Embiricos Bentley Hispano-Suiza Dubonnet Xenia Sharknose Graham, Saoutchik body Cadzilla, Larry Ericson/Boyd Coddington Delahaye, Figoni & Falaschi body Delahaye, Figoni & Falaschi body (yes, another one) Bugatti, VanVooren body Horch
I like the Alvis skirts too; in fact, I like the whole cars. The skinny whitewalls on the green car are anachronistic, but I think the car looks great with them.
