Hey guys ,what do you think about this shape for fender skirts on my 41 sedan ? ] Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Kinda 'forward looking' at the leading edge...looks like streamlining attempt on a subtle round bulbous entity. Not trying to sound 'snooty', I have a '47 sedan, going to make a pair of flare skirts for it. Skirts should 'enhance' fender lines, not alter them.
Dont really know if Id like a sedan with skirts. I realize you are trying to copy your fender contour but try these approaches. Use the same contours on the top and back half but minimize the contour on the front. (looks alittle off) Or go totally different on everything and go for rounded contours. Take pics and let us see it.
The long skirts are reproduced by Agape Auto parts. They will need some reshape....but it's hard to improve on their looks. My 41 Merc This is what a properly shaped 41 long skirt should look like
Thanks for the advise. I took the rear window garnish and traced it to use it as a starting point. The lower front edge does look like its leaning too much. The paper can't follow the curve of the fender, pulling the lines out of place. I'll start adjusting Thanks ! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have an opinion on skirts on a 40s car. But I doubt you would want to hear it. I hope you change your mind...
