Thinking way ahead here........Looking on E-bay this evening at fender skirts for a 1949 fleetline . They didn't have any listed ,but they have some for 50, 51. Would these fit ? The rear quarters look the same . What other years would work ? If any.......Any help would be greatly appriceated .
49 and 50 are the same while 51s and 52s are the same. In other words a 51 skirt won't fit right on a 49 and vice versa. Check out these links http://fenderskirtdepot.com/Chevy/ http://www.truckandcarshop.com/4157.html
the dice king has them also 51 ford foxcraft skirts fit and they have the flair on the bottom that makes them look lower but they are not flush mounted
Agape makes steel skirts, they do a nice job for not a lot of money. My father just got a set for his '49 Plymouth, I'm planning on ordering a set for my '41 Ford. http://www.agapeautoparts.com/default.htm
It's true that 49/50 skirts are different than 51/52 skirts. The early ones are asymmetrical and there's a definite left and right skirt. The later ones are symmetrical and can be swapped side to side. However, before you throw down any cash, you may want to double check your rear wheel openings. I have a 50 and bought some 49/50 skirts only to find out that my car had been repaired at some point in its life with 51/52 lower fender patch panels. I needed those skirts instead. A quick measure would have saved me a bunch of time, hassle and money. Don't be dumb like me; double check before you buy. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Pretty sure my girlfriend has an extra pair of the 49-50 style skirts that she'd part with for $100 plus shipping, original used ones, I can ask her if you're interested. That's still cheaper than new fiberglass. They might be dinged up a bit but they're real ones. Won't fit her '51.
