fenderless or full fender....

  1. That truck has possibilities!!
Keep the fenders and update the original frame. So much easier......

fenderless is for people that don't have fenders.

This is the first post you've made that gives me hope for you on this forum! All teasing aside, this is a 'traditional' hot rodding place. I agree with you on getting the 'flattie' running also; even if you swap an OHV in it later, cruising around a bit with the original engine for a while will be a bunch of fun. Good luck with your truck!

I love peoples varied opinions, flavor of life. I say do what you want how you want. Your not doing it for anyone else. Have fun, be creative, and above all, DONT let anyone else make your decisions for you.

yeah everyone here seems to be on the same page so far, keep the fenders and the stock frame if possible, and then go from there

He's not being ragged for what he wants to do, he's being cautioned about what's appropriate to discuss on THIS forum. We don't care if he puts a 2011 Z06 frame under it and a Ferrari V12 under the hood along with 22" rims....we just don't have any interest in hearing about it, offering advice (beyond DON'T DO IT!!!!) on his decisions, or soliciting meaningful discussions on his intentions.

Looking at his avatar, it appears he has some skills, I (and others) are merely informing him about the narrow confines of a 'traditional' rod and custom site.

Fenders, no S10 frame or bags & paint the fuckin' thing. That's not patina, it's rust.

Ok guys... Here is some response to things regarding this forum... Ive seen numerous cars and trucks with chassis swaps on here... the Patina thing is a joke... its 80 grit rust finish is the paint job it sports now... I hear so many people saying this or thats patina I was just trying to make some of you laugh..

So decissions here were made last night and think its the car gods shining down on me... had a contact hit me up about buying the s10 chassis but before that i had looked at some various pics i have and decided that the cab is too curvy to be fenderless and ever look good... an early 30s truck cab would be the way to go I think if I ever do fenderless. Im going to basically strip this truck down and start from the ground up.... blast frame and paint it etc and drop her down quite a bit... Going to try to get this flatty running for the meantime before pulling it down and see if I can get it rolling as is for starters... just for fun.... This truck is in the same shape the one in the avatar was when I got it... Lots of work to get em smooth enough for paint... so Ill paint her eventually... Im used to building traditional style but the alure of other avenues can sway our thinking sometime... so figure this is my other way to update if I want... fatman kit on the orig frame if the front end is totaly shot on her. I dont like falling victim to the whole RR craze nor want to be associated there... yeah some call a flat black or rusted vehicle a RR and thats not my thoughts... I try to do things like they did in the 50s kustom and need to hold true to that...

Thanks guys for some of that kick in the a$$ to get me thinking straight again...
