I enjoy this argument. I started work on mine almost 3 years ago. They hadn't gotten so much exposure then. I guess the Rudy was the only one getting any attention. Now everyone is building one, most are not well executed.
The cool part is that, in spite of the 'traditional' debate, I have started seeing pictures from the late 50's and early 60' where fenderless trucks were being built and even raced.
I think we would do well to remember 'judge not, lest ye be judged'.

I don't think I would call mine a bobber, but it is fenderless, by design.

Considering the "to the point" name of this thread, I'd think someone who didn't want to see them or didn't like them, would pass on it. Just a thought.

Of course, I've stopped to look at a few train wrecks in my time. No harm done.

  17. What Brand? I wanna make sure we are on the same page:D

  18. The problem with most fenderless trucks nowdays is they tend to be "Ratty," or extreme and cartoonish in proportion. I'm building one anyway; the Ugly Truck.

  19. Careful there, fellers. It's a short trip from ugly trucks to ugly chicks. Once you compromise on taste, it's a slippery slope.

  20. Ugly chicks try harder, and aren't as likely to leave you. And if they do leave, who cares?

  21. And then from ugly chicks to chicks w/****'*

  22. OK, here's a challenge for you guys. Show me a POST '34 fenderless truck that isn't either a rat rod, or an exersize in humor.

oh dear lord! One of those trucks made me pee my pants!

If stretching a frame 6" is good... 16" must be great!

    Oh dear lord.

  24. I'm getting close to finishing mine, and hope to be driving it soon.

Tell that to Plowboy and Lukester...

We know what the Space Truck looks like.... but here is Lukester's truck from a few years back.

Sure its bare metal... but the fab work is pro. The details are many... rat rod? No way.

  29. While I admire the work in the above (Lukester's) truck, it still would be much better with fenders.

And on the subject, what is the proper term for rat rod style and proportions, but with excellent workmanship? A perfect example would be that dark copper colored '29 rpu built at Pinky's last year...
