Any one ever use fiber glass fenders on their 46 ford coupe all 4 of my steel fenders are beyond repair . So says 2 different body men . Also does any one no who makes a good fiber glass fender . I have heard some good stuff on bee bops fenders . Thanks for any info .
Stay with real steel. Find a good metal man to work them and not a body guy. As talented as the body guys may be they don't know how to work the old junk. Like today's "techs" trying to adjust carbs or set dwell....ain't gonna happen. Find the right guy and you will be happy you saved the steel....even if it is a new-to-you set from the Hamb classifieds.
Fairlane Products in St Johns Michigan used to make good reproduction Ford 'glass fenders for 46-48 Fords Sadly-They are out of business-there are lots of good low rust or rust free steel fenders for your car out there-just gotta find 'em
I'd also suggest finding a good metal man, not a bodyman, but be prepared to spend big $$$. I brought a '36 Ford fender back to life and had 14 hours of labor in it! (and I'm not an amateur) At today's rates, that can get pretty expensive. That being said, if you do decide to go with fiberglass, Be Bops makes a very high quality piece. I've built and painted a number of glass cars and their quality is some of the best you'll find. Disclaimer... I have no connection to Be Bops in any way... just know quality when I see it
