i had leak problems, i ended up buying a composite gasket and stud problem solver kit from a place online. there tag said "a must have for fenton headers" i wish i new the name because, i need a set for another engine.
Stock is all I ever use, and should always work when using an iron manifold, unless the manifold is really warped, in which case you need to have it machined regardless of the gasket type. I believe Larrowwe & Sons may sell a one piece gasket?? check them out...
The newest white one-piece 'problem-solver' gaskets are no good any more. - They crack around the exhaust ports after just a few miles. The older grey ones are holding up well without leaks for years on my daily 235 ... if you still can get them. Just use the stock ones and check or machine intake and exhaust manifolds for level surface.
what company makes that white gasket? i had good luck with them and would like another, for a different motor.
A company called remflex sells them, they are not cheap (around $60.00) but they work awesome. Extra thick graphite with a steel core. Check your local parts store and see if they are a dealer for them or just buy them off of their web site.
I tried a stock 3 piece gasket. I had intake leaks BAD. I found a company called remflex. Check these links out. Heres the link to buy the gasket: http://catalog.remflex.com/CHEVROLET_GM_CHEVY_Header_Exhaust_Manifold_Gasket_p/rf2027.htm Heres a link to read about the gasket and why itll be the last one you buy: http://catalog.remflex.com/category_s/154.htm Yea, theyre a bit pricey, but the stock 3 piece wasnt an option for me. Anyways, I love them and I have NO leaks, and never will down the road from blow out!
