Hey guys, I've got a few questions. Getting excited to go home and get the 52 running and I was wanting to ask a few small things I can't seem to find through searching. I've got a date set aside for this summer so I want to be prepared. I've got a week to get everything put together and it'll be all I'm doing during that time.

    • Does anyone know the length of a 52 Styleline Sedan/Deluxe? I want to know if I can fit it in my garage.
    • How much oil do I put into a 1954 235ci Chevrolet Straight 6?
    • What type of brake fluid do I use?
    • What oil should I use?
    • Should I use fuel stabilizer?

When I get home I plan to:

    • New Gas Tank (Full of Rust)
    • New Fuel Lines (Clogged with rust)
    • New Fuel Pump
    • New Carburetor
    • New Spark Plugs
    • New Plug Wires
    • New Master Cylinder
    • New Drums+Shoes+Rebuild
    • New Brake Lines
    • New Tires (Ones on there are marked 1973)
    • New Battery (Obviously. Already 12v converted)
Anything else major I should consider on a run-once-a-few-years-ago-but-otherwise-haven't-drove-in-twenty-years car?

  2. The car will fit standard length garage. 5qts if it has a filter. Plain old regular brake fluid. 30 wt. with zinc adaptive. Yes.more over if you don't drive much add the stabilizer. All sounds good to replace I'd check the drums for wear they might turn. You will have to cut the rivets on front hubs if they are the original. Replace the rubber hose also.

Points, condenser, cap and rotor. Check wiring for bad spots.
