Technical Fiberglass Willys bodies

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by willys36, Jul 29, 2024.

  1. With no mags any longer, don't go to rod runs, have lost contact with the commercial rod market. Are there still companies making pre-war Willys coupe bodies? And Ford bodies for that matter?

Mine is an A and C. It was a shock to me at just how good it was. Go back and look at my builds. It’s pretty nice. Wished I hadn’t gotten the hidden hinges and had gotten the stock. That way I could have put the pull pins like the Prefect and Opel Kadet and remove the doors and hang them easy. Everything is there I just didn’t at the time. Hind sight

Willys in my avatar is an Outlaw, bought 2 of them #24 & #25. Would by a chopped '33 if they made one.

I haven’t don’t the Final Cut and buff. I have some orange peel in the clear right behind the door on both sides. And for the life of me I haven’t figured out how. It’s the most access able area when I sprayed it. Go figure.Do yourself a favor. Buy the grill /headlight assemblies and let them do the front cap and trunk hinges. It will actually save you money and time in the long haul. Again also I wished I would have done the stock hinges so could quick pin the doors. But it shuts very solid. Is well built lots of structure reinforcement in the critical areas. I would buy another one( 33 pick up ) in a heart beat if offered and I had the coin
Also this is a street body. I have total weight with assembled car and me. And that’s as you see cage and all. I was shocked. As in how light it really was. .
