I think that is the first time I've seen a Cadillac air cleaner on a Cadillac...

Nice find! Have fun with her!

Doesn't look like a Willys coop to me...more than likely a '46-'48 Chevy coop...you can tell from the roofline and quarter windows...

    R-

  8. No, the car next to that. All I can see is the wheelwell...and it's defenetly Willys.

  9. Once you get a radiator, and CAREFULLY get the engine rolled over and fired up, I'd throw a blanket over the front seat and "exercise" it up and down the driveway...just to see what's up with it. Any GOOD bodyman can put the door and fender back to like new. Find one and check...before you go hacking and whacking on them...

  10. Yes it's a Willys. A bunch of good old cars in this field.

  11. So update on the Car. The steering has exploded. the center link is broken and everything connected has collapsed. shouldnt be too bad to correct just have to replace it all. The trans linkage is all broken free along with 90 percent of all rubber hoses in the engine compartment being rotten. I do believe it will just be a matter of replacing all those components and then basic engine maint. stuff (oil, plugs, wires, clean fuel line and tank) and I think she will fire up.

  12. Holy Shit! A steel Willys coupe? So, that is by Cheyenne, right?

    Congrats. Go wild with it.

  14. Yes, The owner used to have a hot rod shop and wants to open another so he knows what he has. What you see is only a fraction of what's there. Cars from the 20's through the 60's

  15. Usually in Wyo. folks only THINK they know what they have. Oh well.

Drag links are $$$. I bought a replacement from Rare Parts, eneded up costing about $600, if I remember correctly. For that kind of money, I should have converted to Rack and Pinion...oh well...maybe next time

Welcome to the Caddy club, get ready to open that wallet a little further.

I like the 56 poncho in the background. Looks to be in pretty good shape.

  18. I think you can get that stuff, (drag link, etc.) from Kanter, but yeah caddy shit is spendy no matter what it is

  19. I know where there is a complete '54 or '55 Cad 4 dr. for 500 bucks if you need parts. I can find out if it's still there if you want, let me know.

  20. Yeah dude find out please. I think I could use the rearend for my buick too.

  21. Goin to get the spare engine soon, ill add pics as soon as it a "mission accomplished"

Drag Link from Kanter? I don't think so. I searched high and low, and ended up at Rare Parts. Kanter DOES sell a rebuild kit for the drag link, but the actual metal tube on mine was busted.

  23. Heres the extra engine we just spent a few hours pulling out of a farmhand in a light snow store, with a john deere.

I'm thankful you saved it, I love Cadillacs.

  26. So update. Ill have pictures at some point. But i torn down my spare engine and it turned out that it got a bit wet in the cylinders and it took a fucking coonsage to get the god damn trans off. Basically I had to rip into the motor down to the crank just to get it to turn. But its off and the engine is stored waiting to get rebuilt for another project. The 54 caddy gets to sit and wait till spring for my Buick to get out of the shop and then Im getting into it.

  27. Best of luck!!

We just got our 1952 caddy running after sitting for over 30 years!

    Keep us updated!:D

    thats funny right there!

  29. Great score. Gawd, I love those old caddies.

  30. when I am hangin at my shop I end up walking outside and just kidda staring at the thing. Earl and the boys at GM designed the hell out of them to be attractive. staring at the front of a mid fifties cad is like staring at a beautiful naked women. I could do both all day.
