Looks like the body is useable, there lots of repop parts and patch panels available. The coupe in my avatar was sitting in a field from 1959 until I bought it in 1993, used gl*** fenders but used the body and frame.

Most start out a little rough. With a little (lot of) hard work you end up with a hot rod. Mine is getting some new paint and in a few weeks its going back together. Hope to be driving by September.

Bob, If I were in your shoes with life by the balls, a great Chevy convert that will take you coast to coast at the drop of a hat, a lovely wife and a great homestead to come home to, what do you need this kind of aggravation this late in life? P*** it on to one of these overzealous dreamers and watch the fun from the sidelines. Life is short (especially when viewed from our prespective) go out having a ball doing the FUN things that you've earned with a life well lived.

Frank, you just put into words what I have been thinking for the last couple of weeks while looking at that thing. Iv'e got a whole lot of other things we wanna do and don't want to have a project of that scope holding me down. Maggie says, hey we got things to do and lots of places to go, SELL IT. What Maggie wants, Maggie gets.

When I get back from BTT50'S I am going to put that A on the cl***ifieds. I'm gonna ask 2,250.00 for it. From all of the emails that I have been getting that seems to be a fair price. I've had folks tell me al the way from 1500 to 3500 so that's what I'm gonna settle on.

If it don't sell than maybe we will change our mind.

It is now at it's new home in Minnesota and has been stripped of all of surplus parts and is on it's way to becoming a channeled fenderless HOT ROD.

Well we got started on the A today.

We built a frame for it and channeled the body and started on the subrails.

Gonna work on getting the motor and trans mounted then mount install the perminant front crossmember installed once we figure out the clearance for the motor.

Bob, see if you can find some of the olds pic of it and email them to me and ill repost them!

    lil more progress,

hes been plugging away at the car little by little, its his first car build and ive basically been giving him stuff to do here and there, then ill come over and help out a bit on things then set him free on it to do more.

i was over a while back and we got the motor and trans mounted and worked on the subrails.

then i went over yesterday and we got the front crossmember in the frame and front end basically bolted on, then we decided to chop it, took 3" out of it.
