    FYI. Fifi was flown into Boing field in the 90's. She was in pretty good shape at that time. The work done was mostly detail work, sheet metal parts, some minor airframe. She flew out in a little better shape than when she flew in.

    Did anyone see the documentary on the Kee Bird, the B29 that was landed on the frozen tundra of Iceland and sat there for decades? They had it together and was taxiing to fly it out but a gasoline powered generator overturned in the rear of the fuselage and burnt it to the ground.

    It's even worst than that. IIRC the leader of the group developed terrible health issues and had to leave early, just to die in a hospital.

    One of my Supervisors, Roger Flowers, was on the Kee Bird Recovery crew.. Had a ton of interesting pics. Sad thing to watch the video of it burning..
