Clear all obstacles (compressors, jacks, other vehicles, creepers, etc.) away from car.
Go over entire car, creating a to do list.
    Prioritize the to do list.
Have a clear/clean area to lay out necessary tools/items for that single task at hand.
Stay focused on that one task at a time.
    Do not rush.
Read this entire thread..very good information on here.

I also like to have metal shelving in the same area as the car being ***embled to hold all the little bits and pieces that will go on it. I keep some parts together in small plastic containers, like "front end parts" and I use baggies to hold the appropriate bolts and I write on the baggie with permanent marker what they are for.

I use this tip any time I'm working around the radiator. Have a precut piece of cardboard for all our rides - slipped in a corner of the garage.

Nothing worse than slipping and putting fist or elbow-sized lump in the fins. Plus the fins will do a real number on your skin if you hit them right and then ya gotta clean up a bunch of blood too.

Just make sure you take it out when you're done...:)

  6. This thread is gold, Agreed that you cannot do enough ***embly before paint. I was so paranoid i drove my car for a season in primer just to make sure she was legit before paint.
