  1. So my son scored his first Hot Rod, a 46 Ford C-dan after a stint of dirt track racing. Car is complete with original flathead, it turns over but no spark. I have no experience with the front mounted crab style distributor. Anybody have an idea where to start????

  2. It is just a distributer and works just like any other distributer. First make sure that it has power to the distributer. Then open it up turn the switch on and trip the points and see if you get a spark there, next make sure that you have a good condenser. Make sure that the contacts are clean for the rotor.

Now all that is good and cleaned up, ****on it back up and pull the coil wore and see if it is sparking when you spin it over. sparking at the coil then it becomes a matter of plugs wires and plugs.

Anyway trouble shoot it just like any other distributer.

Oh and don't try to change the timing with the motor running. :D

  4. I was actually almost there in high school. ;) Jail bar pickup, the guy at the wrecking yard said it sounds a little slow. Then he had to slap me.:)
