This would be a dream someday! Love what you have done. Did you change tire size on the rear from the original ones you had on from around post #211? Those look smaller for some reason. Anyways, love it!

    Mike,

I found your thread last week. WOW!!!!! Can you post a pic of how you attached your hood straps to the hood itself?

Also, curious as to why you didn't recover the original bench?

Glad to see you properly modified the firewall. On my A Tudor I recently installed a Pertronix Ignitor II and had to cut and notch the existing firewall in order to remove the distributor, a difficult task in an already completed hot rod! I knew when I bought it that distributor removal would be a bitch!:(

Also, congrats on using the '32 gas tank kit. Mine has the plastic side tanks and although they work, I would never do that in the future!

  8. Sure thing, I will take some pictures today or tomorrow, it was really easy.

As for the stock seat, I just didn't like it, too bouncy, I sit too high in it and it takes up too much room. Not to mention I like the flexibility of the caravan seat. The back tilts forward for easy access into the trunk and the whole seat will tilt forward for access under the seat. It's the perfect seat for a Model A

Honestly it was pure luck, it just barely cleared. LOL In order to remove the distributor I have to take the cap off and pull it halfway out then tilt it a quarter turn and pull then tilt. It's like a rubics cube but it comes out with the right combination.

As for the tank, I bought the side arms and we made the rest of the mount. I really like the way it tunred out.

  13. Just been through the entire thread - how I missed it I do not know. Great build and just great work all the way around. I'm really liking it - a lot! Miles of smiles, man ....

  15. Here you go shoebox, not the best pictures but you get the idea. Really simple install. Drilled two holes for each lower mount. As for the top buckle, I used the stock hood rods that the of hood sides were hooked on by. Just ran the rod through the top belt loop.

  18. Mike,
I just got done reading the thread on your build. The car looks fricken awesome. I'm in the process of building a 31' pickup on a brookville frame. I just picked up a stock 30' coupe. You have given me some ideas for both builds. If your ever up in the region, give me a shout. Keith

  19. Mike,
The wish bones for your front and rear suspension. Did those come off of an A? How did you do the ends to make your connecting points, so they can be attached to the frame?

Well, if I am incorrect he will correct me. I believe they are stock bones split with bungs welded in the ends and then heim joints screwed into the bungs. Mikes29 has done this with several vehicles now and it works very well.

Sorry Mike, I was hear and thought I would answer the question posted since you are off sleeping somewhere. LOL...

  21. Hey Keith, Bryan is correct. The rear are from a stock A. We split them and welded the bungs to accept the heim joints. As for the front. I bought new radius rods from Speedway with the bungs aready in them. If i'm ever up that way i'll let you know!

  22. Gentlemen,
Thanks for the info. That is a big help. Hopefully when that time comes Mike, I will have both of my projects done.

  25. She just needs a little work and some TLC. Are you still going to chop yours?

They both need about a 3" hair cut. I know Mike has gotten used to his being uncut but it would make a completely different look to these coupes. If you are going to leave the fenders you can leave it unchopped. If you go fenderless like you should, you should also chop it 3" for that "so cool" look.... Just my .02 cents worth. We give Mike a hard time about running fenders. He's used to it by now so it's not as much fun anymore. Good luck with you projects man.

  27. B. Sharp,
I am going to run fenders on the coupe. The truck is going to be fenderless, but I don't think I'm going to give it a hair cut. I added a pic of the truck.

  28. the unchopped top has grown on me :)

  29. Mike,
It seems that these days everyone wants to give their coupe/truck/sedan a haircut. I'm accustomed to leaving it unchopped.

Leave both roof's alone! They look great with the fenders (in my humble opinion).
