Got the rear suspension all tacked in finally. Still need to get a longer diagonal link and I plan on adding some plates to the ends of the upper shock mount so I get more weld area onto the frame. Axles should be here this week and then I can put it on four wheels for the first time in 15 years! Can't really final weld anything until I get my rear fenders and running boards and make sure it all looks kosher. All in all I'm finally taking some steps in the right direction. Let me know if you notice any safety issues.

'38 Chevy. Intentions are street/strip (more strip, not enough seats for the family), something a high school kid may have built in the late '60's. Suspension had to be usable and adjustable for the track hence the modern components.

  9. nice work..i hope you don't mind me making a comment. you mentioned the car will see strip/street use. i'm not a big fan of diagonal links on street driven cars , it's more of a drag race straight line thing. i'd much prefer a panhard bar

No offense taken and I understand your concern. I read a lot about it and for the amount of street time the truck is likely to see I don't think it will be of great concern. (Mostly around town, never far distances.) I'm going to have some tight clearances in the back between the tire, frame, and fender and the link may provide less slop in side to side movement and prevent some tire rub.
