Yep yep, (62) years of wanting a ShoeBox Ford Coupe :)
Finally at (76) I have one..
Certainly a major project, but bought this last week, and it delivered this morning..
Those of you that know me realize I have some handicap problems....knees, back, neck and so on..
I totally built my'63 Biscayne ten years ago and love it..major work project.
This one will be different..engine change and other difficult mechanical things for me I will have done..
Body work, interior and so on I can handle...This '49 is very complete including interior and is very solid.
Really excited to get going on it.
    Cheers...

  6. That's great. I know what it's like to end up owning a car you have wanted for many years. Mine was a '50 Tudor, but I managed to snag a good one last October. I've been lucky enough to be driving it as a daily driver all summer.

Enjoy your car / project. I wish you well. :)

Nice looking car. Mine has the flathead V8 with the 3 speed column shift, no OD. Make sure you check out the wiring good as the old insulation is usually very brittle. What is in yours?

It appears to have some work done around the hood and grill.

Looks like a nice solid body, Like you I had wanted a 49-50 Ford coupe since I was a kid and bought one from a friend a while back, I made a lot of progress but unfortunately life happens and I was forced to sell the car.

Maybe someday I can replace it. HRP

That's mainly the angle of the photo and that the bumper and most of the grille is off the car.
